[PB62] Organizing and tech thread

Did he make it as a single player save or a world builder save? If he made it as a world builder save, you should put it in Documents/My Games/beyond the sword/saves/worldbuilder. Then when you start up civ4, you load it from "Custom Scenario." If he made it as a single player save, put it in Documents/My Games/beyond the sword/saves/single and just load it from the Load Game menu. (If he made it as a single player save, you need to open it with the same mod, but luckily the game will prompt you with the correct one.)

Tech support has woken up. In case it happens to someone in the future: Discord cuts off the end of the filetype. You have to add the missing dSave at the end.

I'm getting this error message when trying to connect to the game. I've downloaded the mod from https://civ.zulan.net/pb/volatile/RB62.zip and extracted it to D:\games\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RB62, which as far as I can tell is correct. I'm using the wrapper from this post: https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/show...#pid787410. I'm able to log in and see the game, but I'm afraid of causing issues if I start moving units around and what not.

Anything else I should try?

Sorry for the delays (and multiple logins), as soon as I get this sorted I'll get to my turn.

I get error messages like that sometimes. It's never caused a major problem that I'm aware of. Maybe there are minor issues, but certainly you can play turns without breaking the game.
Past Games: PB51  -  PB55  -  PB56  -  PB58 (Tarkeel's game)  - PB59  -  PB60  -  PB64  -  PB66  -  PB68 (Miguelito's game)     Current Games: None (for now...)

Hm, OK. I'll start taking turns. Hopefully someone can help me resolve the issues later.

This message is often thrown without reason. I assume that the Civ4 dev's comparing the wrong checksums at this stage of the login.
During the startup of the game will several checksums be evaluated, e.g. one for all Civ4:BTS python files and one for all effective python files. The exact algorithm is not known.

The second value is important to guarantee that server and client are using the same code.
If a mod like PB62 changes a game file and you then edit the original file in BTS/Assets/Python/... you can play the game normally, but the first checksum will be changed.

Maybe I can remove this popup by overwriting the first checksum with the second one during the startup of Civ4. Currently, you has to ignore it. If it crashs after the login, then are the game files really different on your system.
