Yup. A liberal idea would be to be accepting and tolerant of any gender identity a person wishes to express. Leftism would be to forcibly compel others to use certain pronouns under the coercive threat to cancel or fire or ban you if you don't.
That's really verging on the question of the left-right axis versus the top-bottom axis, authoritarianism vs individualism. We've let ourselves get so caught up in the left-right fights that nobody notices when the top-down authoritarians are massively winning on both sides.

Leftist ideas might just have to do with more than gender pronouns, but I'm not well-read on theory, so I guess we'll have to take T-Hawk's word for it.

Edit: Replying to T-Hawk.
This is also not a lefty position but rather an authoritarian one, as you say later. Left in the original sense is mostly about economics (control over the means of production).

Absolutely not. Leftism would be to defend higher wages, better work conditions, and generally dignity of labor. Liberals are more interested in social issues than working class issues, I agree.

No way. Democrats have a divine right to rule, I mean serve, their constituents.

That explains why all those anti-vaxxers are dropping off like flies from covid. The prayers would work if only God wasn't a Democrat.

I suppose I don't really get why the desire to abuse those who you find odd, a very small part of your life I would hope, supersedes the desire to better things for yourself. Is it just conservative conditioning or something in the human nature?

That's the madness - they want to force everyone else into their positions on guns, vaccines, diversity, collectivized economics and health care, and so on. Even to the point of censoring and canceling anyone who dares to speak in any other way. They are seeking a collectivized hive mind with all dissent stamped out.
The right mostly doesn't do that. They tolerate opposing viewpoints: If you want or don't want a gun, that's your choice; if you want or don't want a vaccine, that's your choice; if you want or don't want health care, buy it or don't. They are gradually getting to tolerance on gender issues. There is still the notable exception of abortion.
