Minor petition: can the tab in F9->statistics be changed from buildings built to buildings owned, ie include buildings captured in conquest? I feel it would be much more useful that way, and it is what the tile improvement tab does already.

I see no problem with changing that. I've put it on the todo list, but with a lower priority.

I want to ask that the UU for the Americans be a settler that costs 90 hammers. "manifest destiny" and all that..
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I like that idea. I have it in my mod with it ignore terrain costs and 4 defense and call it pioneer. It is okay but nothing amazing. Ignore terrain cost and 90 hammers would be a slightly better unit that shaves off a turn building and sometimes when moving in and settling on forest and hills.

Whats closer to home than Americans expanding like a weed?

I fully approve about double checking if things are Close to Home, but in this case America has already been changed from base (where they SUCKED), so changing the change as it were is probably fine. I know people have at least considered America at the moment before picking something else, so maybe its fine as is. That being said, I'm not opposed to trying just the hammer discount on settler. I think ignoring terrain costs is probably too much.
Maybe give it the old Fast Worker treatment of 3 move? I can already see the Cathy pairing for max neighbor salt
I think defense would be odd and far from home. If the mobility isnt enough then perhaps a 5, maayyybee 10 hammer discount could secure it's place. |
