The End
As the game has come to an end, here's a final overview of our empire. First, the core:
Our border with Mjmd can be seen in the upper left corner, and is a prime example of a stable border: both cities are placed on hills and have good vision of the other's territory. Kyalami has slightly better road support, and we're working on improving it even more. The border with Superdeath is also decent from our perspective, although we suspect that Zandvoort has been a thorn in their side, althought there was suprisingly little about that city in SD's thread.
We've made the best we could out of the hinterlands inbetween. Note that the entire bay south/east of Paul Ricard and Nürburgring is properly fog-busted, limited the resources devoted to barb-hunting.
Our economic focus is clearly visible in the statistics:
Silverstone has turned into a pure commerce/research capital, and is set to birth a scientist in 14 turns.
Sakhir was settled purely for the copper, but has since grown up to be a decent hybrid city.
Monaco was captured from Fabled and is also primarily a commerce city, and has been building Stonehenge in the hope of fail-gold.
Spa was also captured from Fabled, and is (you guessed it) yet another commerce city. We've actually had issues with spending all the food this city generates.
Zandvoort was founded primarily to secure stone and a safe border against Superdeath, and while it was initially food poor it has since grown into it's own. Both the floodplains have just had their farms replaced by cottages.
Indianapolis is another powerhouse enabled by the conquest of Fabled. We were working on setting this up for production and were planning to build the Oracle here
Kyalami was the first city since Sakhir that was settled in our old core. While it didn't have any food of it's own, it had some rather important resources to secure (and work). I checked the worldbuilder after the game, and our iron is actually located on the hill south of it. We did consider building the Oracle here at first, but didn't want to antagonize Mjmd with the culture.
Nurburgring is a prime example of making the best out of the available terrain, and has yet to become profitable. It has contributed a settler, and can easily whip out other infrastructure thanks to the food surplus.
Sochi was actually slotted as one of our early cities before the conquest of Fabled opened up new and better city sites. The lack of forests has slowed it down considerably, but it will get a second food in the form of sheep. It's main value has been as a port city and galley builder.
Jerez was founded to straighten out our western border and work the gold. Could have become a decent production site with some development.
Ile Notre-Dame was primarily founded for ICTRs.
Paul Ricard was founded to claim silver as the third metal happiness for our people, and while costly on it's own it would have been worth it.
Finally, a look at the demographics, which mostly speak for themselves:
