Turn 75
We opened the turn to an unconditional peace offer from Cornflakes. We've taken a fair bit of economic damage from pillages and whips, but I'm not in a position to smash their stacks and they're not in a position to take my cities, so I'll take the forced peace and try and build back my improvements. With luck, Cornflakes will try and smash someone else before the Egyptian power spike is over. It still might be us again, but we have a fair number of axes and spears so I think we can hold for now.
An overview of the damage. We're down a farm, a mine, a cottage, and some roads. Annoying (especially the gold mine), but we will recover. I'll have the gold mine at Rhuidean up before too long, and I have two workers coming back to Cairhien to repair the damage and a couple more starting to build.
An overview of the tech situation. We're 1 2 turns out from archery, so we'll finish that and then pick up organized religion, and then push forward for construction.
Something not visible in the screenshots is we're converting to Hinduism this turn. Caemlyn and Tar Valon are both losing a citizen to whip anger, so I'll take happy sources where I can get them. This doesn't do anything for Caemlyn (yet), but at least Tar Valon with be back to full strength.
How does religion spread? It's tied to trade routes, right? I can expect Hinduism to go to Illian and then the rest of the empire?

That`s good news. Cornflakes probably realized that he can`t get anywhere for the time being. He`s been extremely hostile towards us so I think we need to plan for another round in 10 turns time. I agree with going Archery - Masonry - Organized Religion next and then going for a big military tech like Construction. Having a few Catapults around will deter an attack as they can collateral down stacks. Catapults are extremely good in MP games as they won`t obsolete until the industrial era.
Religion has a high chance of spreading to a city up to 5 tiles away from the Holy city and a low chance of spreading to any other city that is connected, I believe. And it could easily spread to our Cornflakes or any other neighbour too. Let`s hope that the world decides to follow the one true Hindu faith. If we can get a Great Prophet we`ll be in excellent shape.
Also, I just noticed that Cornflakes only has 5 cities compared to our 7. We just need to keep the snowball rolling and keep up the expansion. How does the NE look? When is the eta of the next Settler? Reconnecting the resources near Cairhien is quite important. We need the Gold asap.

Trying to keep the expansion pace up, but we're falling behind. Mjmd is at 12, Ginger is at 10, JackRB is at 8, and we're still on 7. At least we're ahead of Cornflakes and Mr Cairo, but at this point it looks like we're in the bottom half for land / cities.
Northern empire. We're getting a lot of cottages up for Caemlyn.
Southern empire. We're rebuilding improvements for Cairhien and connecting an open borders road with Cornflakes.
New city going down next turn, unless there's a better site in mind.
Cornflake's charts are ultra spooky.
Demos.
Wonders are starting to get built.
Diplo situation. I also got a fish / fish from Cornflakes, but I goofed up sending it back so it's not on the list this turn. I've been getting a lot of open borders / open borders requests, but since I don't have trade networks in place I've been turning them down.

I might be able to play a turn every now and then if needed. But if the game becomes more of a burden than anything, it's probably best to ask for a permanent replacement in Civ General.

We can't really do much about the players far away. It's a good sign that neither Mr.Cairo or Cornflakes are doing too well. There is still land to be settled. Just be sure to check for sea food before building the next city.

Hey Fabled, I don't think it's necessarily your fault that you're behind. An early attack from someone will often do that to at least one party, and more commonly both. I think the thing to do in these situations is ask yourself: "Can I still win?" If the answer is yes, the goal is obvious. If the answer is no, the best thing to do is set an alternative goal instead (wrecking Cornflakes game as revenge would be my suggestion, but 'stay alive' is another common one. I say "why not both?"). The demos do look pretty rough considering we're stuck next to Boudica of Egypt, but you have a much better grasp on the game than me. Also, FWIW, Tarkeel and I were attacked and had a terrible position going into the midgame of PB58 (a recent game), easily 5/6th place (with a big gap to 4th), and we were able to come back and win that, so coming from behind is certainly possible.
That new city site looks good. I'm glad we were able to get it. If we're lucky, we'll get more that way.
We actually do have trade routes with most players, FWIW, with Sailing. That's what the yellow arrows are on the scoreboard. It would definitely be worth getting some open borders with our natural allies like civs far away, and possibly with Cairo and Cornflakes to set up demilitarised zones.
I think religion spread is tied somehow to connection, but I'm not 100% sure and no one corrected you so I'm probably wrong.

I'm not sure what happened, but I accidentally declared on Cornflakes. Hopefully they take the peace treaty...

I would love that reload, if we can manage it without disturbing other folks. I'll ask in the main thread.

Did you alt-click on his name in the bottom right by accident? That's reload-worthy in my opinion.
