America has been and still is a place where the promise of liberty isn't fully fulfilled. I think it is always important to recognize this anywhere, on any side. That being said, there is still nothing to me that justifies invasion and war in this situation.

Anyone want to place a bet on Finland joining NATO? Maybe Sweden as well, but I think Finland might.

Regarding Finland and Sweden. The past weeks have shown that neutrality might not be the best way forward. By the way wouldn't this moment be the best moment to join? Now that Putin's army is occupied and can't prevent a NATO joining like in 2008 with Georgia.

Finland won't join if Sweden doesn't.

It's tricky. There is clearly more need to join now that Russia can't be trusted to be peaceful, and there's more will to join from the people. But Russia has already threatened Finland and Sweden if they try to join NATO. There has been talk about giving defensive guarantees during the application process, but that still raises two questions: Will Russia call that bluff and attack anyway? And if Russia does attack, will NATO actually enter a war against a nuclear power just to save Finland and Sweden? I don't think they will. They would be sacrificed just like Ukraine is being left to die on their own right now. It could still be Finland's best bet to join and hope Russia doesn't call the bluff though, because as long as Putin leads and has the means to conquer, he will continue his quest to restore the Soviet Union he so admires.

I’m positive if Ukraine was in NATO it would enter this war.

Putin has enough on his hands right now. He can't fight a second war - even if he has success in Ukraine (or a "declare victory and go home" situation), he won't have the finances or military resources to invade Finland. Finland wouldn't be alone. The process would also be expedited as fast as possible to limit this issue.

We'll also see if the thermobaric bombs he's deploying right now change things - those are barely less destructive than a nuke, and should be classified as WMDs (particularly when used in civilian areas like Kyiv).

I don't understand the problem with the language exactly. Correct me if I am wrong, but Wikipedia says:

"Since 2017, the Hungary–Ukraine relations rapidly deteriorated over the issue of Ukraine's education law.[6][7] Ukraine's 2017 education law makes Ukrainian the required language of primary education in state schools from grade five."

As a German, it seems obvious to me, that all students in schools should be taught in the main language of the country they live in.
For example, there is a Danish minority in northern Germany with special rights when it comes to elections, but nobody would suggest that schools start teaching in Danish.

The Hungarian areas should be made autonomous. The commenter is right that Ukraine has its problems, but those who side with Russia in this war are only highlighting these problems to try to justify the invasion. Even Putin talked about the denazification of Ukraine. He is correct that there are nazis in Ukraine, but they are a small minority, it doesn't justify an invasion, and he doesn't actually care about that in the slightest. He has his own reasons for invading.

I didn't fact check, but it's possible the Ruble is worth less than one Clash of Clans gem.  Finland doesn't need to join NATO, they can just have Supercell buy Russia smile.
