How does that make you feel, and how has it altered the gameplay in your eyes?

It hasn't altered mine much per se, but charismatic has proven even better than anticipated (and Civac doubted!). I was thinking it would be good especially for some over whips for expansion post grans says T50-T75 and for a few cities like capital long, but it keeps giving. I am VERY aware of my happy cap and have been bumping up against constantly (or if Dead Horse almost always over). To the point of offering someone who razed 3 cities peace just for a chance to 1 for 1 trade happy resources......

How does it make me feel. Hm. No strong feelings really. There is good food, which I feel is more important for game play. Good to have a map like this once in a while probably? In "normal mode" I feel like there should probably be one more early happy resource or at least 1 more calendar resource somewhere uncontested and then one more contested (prob on land bridge, aware beaver is probably supposed to be contested sea). Overall there haven't been a lot of wars and I think the "predefined areas" are contributing along with lack of resources to fight over (at least from my bad map scouting).

Gameplay I've noticed from others: I think its led to higher production numbers elsewhere in the world. I've stopped working my copper mine at points, but I don't think I've seen Bing stop working his ever. When I was tracking city pop more I noticed both Bing and Ginger aren't whipping very much. Ginger actually just got back into slavery and a quick scroll I didn't see how long he has been out. Could be that they are newer, but it also probably has something to do with happy caps as well.

I hate everything about this picture. I'm very curious if Conflakes is going for a macemen or knight attack. popcorn

Pretty sure that Gin settler came out of Med. There are only 2 spots it could be going to on that  hill and I hate both of them. Now I very much have a sign saying "do not settle to be nice" in that same region..... Evidently Ginger is not as nice. Also, Ginger being back in slavery and power increasing......

Have I mentioned having two strong neighbors is really annoying.

TECHNICALLY I'm only allowed to demand 1 city, but this is more of a coordinates thing than an actual demand. I couldn't figure out how to say "DON'T SETTLE THIS CITY" especially since THERE ARE NO RESOURCES THERE!!!!! Settler is on hill 1S  of my "don't settle to be nice sign" I placed back on T50. Like this feels like PB62 where I feel like I can read what a good border is, and my opponent just can't.... smoke  To be fair I think this is a lot clearer. Like my city could share a food resource pretty easily as it has access to 3 different cities food resources to work at. His city has a grassland river farm...... This is either really stupid or a purposeful attempt to push at Renzo. Either way I hope he just doesn't????

To answer El Grillo's question. I offered Cairo peace for 100g and then 20gpt. IE 100g for each razed city. Which is honestly a steal, but I might want upgrade gold along with finishing construction gold. Cairo must have gotten currency recently.

Does he have a settler under the axe on that plains hill behind the diplo window?
Reply

Correct. Axe, spear, and settler on plains hill. He has another axe and spear that can be there next turn. Then he has a chariot with a worker on the forest where my sign is. I could*** have taken a 50% shot with my chariot to kill his worker, but I want to give him the chance to back off. I do not want a war with Ginger, but that city spot is just declaring he will be pushing on Renzo eventually.

I requested a turn split with Ginger as I felt we were basically at war unless he withdraws next turn.

He then sent me a message asking me to clarify if I meant war or turn split. I confirmed turn split. He then LOGGED IN ANYWAYS...... I'm sure no builds were changed at all.

So for those curious the reason I didn't declare war is I wanted him to see the diplo message I sent. I assume that would have gone away with a war dec.

I'm going to request a reload.

Is this some subtle way of announcing a war dec or are you trying to establish a peace time split?
If it makes you feel better I won’t be moving units or changing build queues, but I have planned (Before this PM)  to log in in the morning before Fabled rolls to adjust my tile micro.

I like how you just assume Fable will roll the turn (insert smiley here). Turn split.

Here is the string. Notice my extremely careful wording when he asked about "peace time split" that I replied back with just "Turn split". I really struggled with how to respond to this without engaging in diplo. I doubt he spent 20 minutes redoing just tile micro and again I very much considered us in a turn split.

I think this is clear cut reload request to after Cairo's turn. Jack will have to replay.

What in-game diplo message exactly did you send?

This one. IE I'm going to declare war on you if you settle the city by the named cities (again I would have chosen something else if it was near one of them or if there was a resource there). Because there are resources on my side I assumed it would go away if I declared war. After PB62 I always take into account that my opponent may not see borders the same way I do, so I was going to give him a chance to back out before formerly declaring war.

Edit: Oh I also cancelled open borders.
