Since there will be quiet a few posts from me with all the different reports I figured it would be best to collect all of them in an extra thread, so as not to interrupt the discussion elsewhere. If you refrain from posting here until I finished the final T250 report, we can also keep this as a nice repository for everybody to quickly find each report. All the data can be found here:
PB59 Tracking
The plan is to do the following reports:
1. Since all the continents are mirrored, I think it would be interesting to do 5 separate T50 reports. Each would include 5 players who started in the same spot on their continent like for example Joshy, pindicator, Ichabod, Donovan and me. All of these have the exact same layout and therefore are totally equal in terms of map
2. I then would do 5 T100 reports, one for each continent. At that point the PB played mostly like 5 separate PBs one for each continent and this would serve as a nice comparison between players on each continent.
3. From this point onward I would do only 1 report for the whole PB, but I would exclude the eliminated players (at this time 6).
I will use Lewwyn's starting position and island numbers as reference.
Keep in mind that this PB started a long time before I added such nice things as production tracking, tracking actual science and gold, the techs, all the civics etc.

T50 Starting position 1
Players on this position were Superdeath I1, naufragar I2, Cornflakes I3, Miguelito I4 and Lazteuq I5
and here is were every player settled their capitol:
On Sugar: Cornflakes I3, Miguelito I4, Lazteuq I5
On the plains hill: Superdeath I1, naufragar I2
First of all the city count:
- naufragar I2 (IMP) = 5
- Superdeath I1 (IMP) = 3
- Cornflakes I3 = 3
- Miguelito I4 = 3
- Lazteuq I5 = 3
And here are the current amount of pop across those empires at the T50 mark:
- naufragar I2 = 8
- Cornflakes I3= 8
- Miguelito I4 = 7
- Lazteuq I5 = 6
- Superdeath I1 = 5
With this PB I'm also tracking Gold at 100% and Science at 100%, but for these early turns they are identical to the once from Total Commerce. Mind you these are not reduced by the maintenance and science is actually 1 beaker higher then these numbers, which is the standard 1 beaker you always get even during anarchy. With this in mind here are the current turn numbers
- naufragar I2 = 30
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 25
- Cornflakes I3 = 24
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 23
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 22
Everybody is still close together. Of course naufragar is a little bit ahead here since he has 2 more cities. For a better overview let's look at the cumulative numbers. Just as with the current turn numbers you have to add something to these numbers (51) to get the science numbers. This is also a good time to tell you that these are the beaker numbers including modifiers like from libraries or from scientist specialist. The only modifiers that I've excluded are the KTB and the multiple-pre-requiste tech bonus. I did this so that we have numbers that are better to compare between players especially on a per turn basis.
- Cornflakes I3 = 706
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 686
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 673
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 659
- naufragar I2 = 638
Keep in mind these are not the actual numbers. Still it is interesting to see naufragar so far behind everybody else even though he has 5 cities. Superdeath is also PRO and benefitting from that early on. So far it doesn't look that good for team plains hill start, but let's set those numbers into context with maintenance. Thankfully I am now tracking the full picture of maintenance across all relevant data (unit cost, unit supply, civic maintenance, city maintenance and inflation). Adding everything together we have the following current turn maintenance numbers:
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 5
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 5
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 6
- Cornflakes I3 = 6
- naufragar I2 = 14
With this maintenance we can now get a clearer picture of the current gold and beaker rates, which present themselves this way (keep in mind to add the extra beaker for science)
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 19
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 18
- Cornflakes I3 = 18
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 17
- naufragar I2 = 16
Everybody close togehter. But as we already know the current turn numbers are prone to fluctuation in these early turns. Luckily I can now calculate the accumulated gold - the accumulated maintenance.
- Cornflakes I3 = 644
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 641
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 617
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 606
- naufragar I2 = 541
Team plains hill start is still lacking behind.
Financial Bonus
As a disclaimer just as last time, here I collected all the extra commerce a player (would) have gained if he was working Financial tiles. For example if you worked a river cottage tile you normally gain 2 commerce and 3 commerce with FIN. In this case my tool notes down 1 extra commerce. Keep in mind that this is the first time we played with the new lighthouse nerf towards FIN. You will also find that I am tracking the CtH implemenation of Financial as well as the normal BtS implemenation for comparison.
Looking at the current turn numbers first:
- naufragar I2 = 1
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 1
- Cornflakes I3 = 0
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 0
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 0
Still a lot of fluctuation with these numbers in the early turns, so here the accumulated numbers:
- naufragar I2 = 2
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 1
- Cornflakes I3 = 0
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 0
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 0
Not very impressive. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated).
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 37
- naufragar I2 = 27
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 21
- Cornflakes I3 = 16
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 1
The informations we can get from those numbers is if somebody worked the fish tile in the capitol (or sea food anywhere else) and how long. The higher the last number the longer somebody worked a sea food tile and yes that also means that Superdeath did not go for an early work boat unlike for example Lazteuq.
Protective Bonus
I'm skipping the current turn numbers because they are boring. So here are the accumulated numbers:
- Cornflakes I3 = 44
- Miguelito I4 (FIN) = 40
- Superdeath I1 (PRO) = 39
- Lazteuq I5 (AGG) = 22
- naufragar I2 = 19
3 players made sure to connect their cities and 2 were late to the party. Good for Superdeath who is the only PRO player in this group.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here:
- AGG isn't generating anything so far
- ORG is already competing with PRO as we will soon see (emperor difficulty)
- No great people yet
I'm also tracking the labor civics and therefore can determine, when everybody switched to slavery. These are the times they did.
- Miguelito I4 = T26
- Superdeath I1 = T38
- Lazteuq I5 (SPI) = T30
- naufragar I2 = T30
- Cornflakes I3 = T42
Comparing traits
The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:
Not that much can be said about the traits in this early stages that we didn't already know from past PBs
- FIN is on the same level as AGG in the early turns after the lighthouse-nerf
- PRO and ORG are fairly equal
More can be said at the next report at T100.

Only team settle in place looks worse right now, but let's set those numbers into context with maintenance. Thankfully I am now tracking the full picture of maintenance across all relevant data (unit cost, unit supply, civic maintenance, city maintenance and inflation). Everybody close together, but we see a stronger performance from ORG. But as we already know the current turn numbers are prone to fluctuation in these early turns. Luckily I can now calculate the accumulated gold - the accumulated maintenance.

- Ramkhamhaeng I5 = 706
- Mr. Cairo I2 (FIN, ORG) = 641
- Piccadilly I3 (FIN) = 590
- civac I4 (AGG) = 572
In this group team plains hill is in the lead with a very strong performance by Commodore I1. Of course Ramkhamhaeng I5 is also high up, but don't forget he was only running 2 cities and grew tall to tech ahead for Oracle.
Financial Bonus
As a disclaimer just as last time, here I collected all the extra commerce a player (would) have gained if he was working Financial tiles. - Mr. Cairo I2 (FIN, ORG) = 0
3 players made sure to connect their cities and 2 were late to the party. Don't forget Ramkhamhaeng I5 can't make that much money here since he only has 2 cities.
Misc

T50 Starting position 4
Players on this position were The Black Sword, Amicalola, Frozen, Automated Teller and Mjmd
and here is were every player settled their capitol:
On Sugar: Amicalola, The Black Sword, Mjmd, Automated Teller, Frozen
First of all the city count:
- Frozen (IMP) = 4
- The Black Sword (IMP) = 4
- Automated Teller = 3
- Amicalola = 3
- Mjmd = 3
And here are the current amount of pop across those empires at the T50 mark:
- Frozen = 9
- The Black Sword = 9
- Automated Teller = 8
- Mjmd = 7
- Amicalola = 6
With this PB I'm also tracking Gold at 100% and Science at 100%, but for these early turns they are identical to the once from Total Commerce. Mind you these are not reduced by the maintenance and science is actually 1 beaker higher then these numbers, which is the standard 1 beaker you always get even during anarchy. With this in mind here are the current turn numbers
- Frozen (FIN) = 9
- The Black Sword = 9
- Automated Teller = 8
- Mjmd (ORG) = 7
- Amicalola (ORG) = 6
Everybody is still close together. For a better overview let's look at the cumulative numbers. Just as with the current turn numbers you have to add something to these numbers (51) to get the science numbers. - Frozen (FIN) = 693
- The Black Sword = 688
- Automated Teller = 660
- Mjmd (ORG) = 639
- Amicalola (ORG) = 616
Keep in mind these are not the actual numbers. This time of course everybody settled on sugar, but those numbers by Frozen and The Black Sword are very impressive considering they were not aided by traits directly. Let's set those numbers into context with maintenance. Thankfully I am now tracking the full picture of maintenance across all relevant data (unit cost, unit supply, civic maintenance, city maintenance and inflation). Adding everything together we have the following current turn maintenance numbers:
- Amicalola (ORG) = 2
- Mjmd (ORG) = 3
- Automated Teller = 8
- Frozen (FIN) = 9
- The Black Sword = 9
With this maintenance we can now get a clearer picture of the current gold and beaker rates, which present themselves this way (keep in mind to add the extra beaker for science)
- Frozen (FIN) = 23
- Amicalola (ORG) = 17
- Mjmd (ORG) = 15
- The Black Sword = 14
- Automated Teller = 12
Everybody close together, but we see a stronger performance from ORG, well except if you aren't Frozen. I said this already in my thread, but I think Frozen's performance in this PB is most likely the most astonishing one. But as we already know the current turn numbers are prone to fluctuation in these early turns. Luckily I can now calculate the accumulated gold - the accumulated maintenance.
- The Black Sword = 599
- Amicalola (ORG) = 599
- Frozen (FIN) = 594
- Mjmd (ORG) = 593
- Automated Teller = 588
A very close match up so far.
Looking at the current turn numbers first:
- Frozen (FIN) = 2
- The Black Sword = 0
- Amicalola (ORG) = 0
- Mjmd (ORG) = 0
- Automated Teller = 0
Still a lot of fluctuation with these numbers in the early turns, so here the accumulated numbers:
- Frozen (FIN) = 6
- Amicalola (ORG) = 5
- The Black Sword = 0
- Mjmd (ORG) = 0
- Automated Teller = 0
Not very impressive. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated).
- The Black Sword = 39
- Mjmd (ORG) = 15
- Frozen (FIN) = 6
- Amicalola (ORG) = 5
- Automated Teller = 0
The information we can get from those numbers is if somebody worked the fish tile in the capitol (or sea food anywhere else) and how long. The higher the last number the longer somebody worked a sea food tile and yes that also means that everybody except Commodore hated sea food, but more importantly people like civac and Piccadilly both had no 3 commerce tiles running so far.
Protective Bonus
I'm skipping the current turn numbers because they are boring. So here are the accumulated numbers:
- Frozen (FIN) = 57
- The Black Sword = 48
- Mjmd (ORG) = 40
- Automated Teller = 36
- Amicalola (ORG) = 14
4 players made sure to connect their cities and 1 was late to the party.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here: - AGG isn't generating anything so far
- ORG is already competing with PRO, but still lagging behind a bit, as we will soon see (emperor difficulty)
- No great people yet
- Amicalola managed to built Stonehenge in T43 which combined nicely with his UB.
I'm also tracking the labor civics and therefore can determine, when everybody switched to slavery. These are the times they did.
- The Black Sword = T20
- Amicalola = T25
- Frozen = T26
- Mjmd = T29
- Automated Teller (SPI) = T36

With this PB I'm also tracking Gold at 100% and Science at 100%, but for these early turns they are identical to the once from Total Commerce. Mind you these are not reduced by the maintenance and science is actually 1 beaker higher then these numbers, which is the standard 1 beaker you always get even during anarchy. With this in mind here are the current turn numbers
- Charriu I5 = 28
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 24
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 24
- pindicator I2 = 22
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 21
Everybody is still close together. For a better overview let's look at the cumulative numbers. Just as with the current turn numbers you have to add something to these numbers (51) to get the science numbers.
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 722
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 719
- pindicator I2 = 695
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 693
- Charriu I5 = 693
Keep in mind these are not the actual numbers. No team is really leading by these numbers. Also a very solid performance across the board. Let's set those numbers into context with maintenance. Thankfully I am now tracking the full picture of maintenance across all relevant data (unit cost, unit supply, civic maintenance, city maintenance and inflation). Adding everything together we have the following current turn maintenance numbers:
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 2
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 5
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 5
- Charriu I5 = 5
- pindicator I2 = 6
With this maintenance we can now get a clearer picture of the current gold and beaker rates, which present themselves this way (keep in mind to add the extra beaker for science)
- Charriu I5 = 23
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 19
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 19
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 19
- pindicator I2 = 16
Everybody close together. But as we already know the current turn numbers are prone to fluctuation in these early turns. Luckily I can now calculate the accumulated gold - the accumulated maintenance.
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 687
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 678
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 664
- Charriu I5 = 634
- pindicator I2 = 633
Still a very solid performance by most players. Team settle in place is right in there with everybody. Team plains hill is a bit behind but after doing all 5 reports still solid numbers.
- Charriu I5 = 1
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 0
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 0
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 0
- pindicator I2 = 0
Still a lot of fluctuation with these numbers in the early turns, so here the accumulated numbers:
- Charriu I5 = 3
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 0
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 0
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 0
- pindicator I2 = 0
Not very impressive. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated).
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 56
- Charriu I5 = 46
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 40
- pindicator I2 = 32
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 24
The information we can get from those numbers is if somebody worked the fish tile in the capitol (or sea food anywhere else) and how long. The higher the last number the longer somebody worked a sea food tile. All in all going for sea food was rather popular with this group.
Protective Bonus
I'm skipping the current turn numbers because they are boring. So here are the accumulated numbers:
- joshybravo I1 (ORG) = 42
- Ichabod I3 (AGG, ORG) = 42
- pindicator I2 = 41
- Donovan I4 (PRO) = 32
- Charriu I5 = 14
4 players made sure to connect their cities and 1 was a stupid git and did not listen to me.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here: - AGG isn't generating anything so far
- ORG is already competing with PRO, but still lagging behind a bit, as we will soon see (emperor difficulty)
- No great people yet
I'm also tracking the labor civics and therefore can determine, when everybody switched to slavery. These are the times they did.
- Ichabod I3 = T24
- Charriu I5 (SPI) = T27
- pindicator I2 = T31
- joshybravo I1 = T31
- Donovan I4 = T37
Comparing traits
The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:
Not that much can be said about the traits in this early stages that we didn't already know from past PBs
- FIN is on the same level as AGG in the early turns after the lighthouse-nerf
- PRO is still a bit better then ORG if you don't expand very fast
More can be said at the next report at T100.

T100 Island 1
Players on this island were Superdeath S1, Tarkeel S2, Commodore S3, The Black Sword S4, joshybravo S5
First of all the city count:
- The Black Sword S4 (IMP) = 15
- joshybravo S5 = 14
- Tarkeel S2 = 10
- Superdeath S1 (IMP) = 12
- Commodore S3 = 9
Next up the pop count as of T100.
- The Black Sword S4 = 86
- joshybravo S5 = 49
- Superdeath S1 = 47
- Tarkeel S2 = 43
- Commodore S3 = 37
As you can see we are already looking at one player (The Black Sword) seemingly crushing the competition by numbers. But size alone doesn't matter.
As you know I'm also tracking Gold and Science output in addition to Total Commerce. Gold and Total Commerce statistics are still close, so I won't bother to post about each individually. You will see all the numbers later in my result screenshot. I opted to post the science current turn numbers here with the total commerce numbers in parenthesis for comparison.
- The Black Sword S4 = 270 (213)
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 190 (162)
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 142 (110)
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 137 (122)
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 110 (101)
What we saw with city and pop count continues with science output and commerce. The Black Sword has a very sizeable lead. It's also nice to see joshy so high up, although we know what fate holds for him in the upcoming 20 turns. It's also worth noting that the top 3 made good use of percentage based modifiers. For a complete picture we need to look at the current maintenance costs too:
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 62
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 85
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 71
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 104
- The Black Sword S4 = 151
Sweet sweet ORG, which makes you pay the same amount of maintenance as somebody with 2 fewer cities. If you look into the spreadsheet itself you will also notice that The Black Sword, Commodore and Superdeath all pay double the amount of unit maintenance as Tarkeel and joshybravo. We now already know how that ended for the latter.
To get a better grasp of the actual economic potential we now take the delta of our gold and maintenance
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 77
- The Black Sword S4 = 62
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 51
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 39
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 7
It's impressive to see that The Black Sword with the most cities already stabilized his economy from the expansion. We can also see that the future anti-The-Black-Sword alliance isn't doing that good economically right now. Especially Superdeath looks like he recently crashed his economy with expansion.
But these are only the current turn numbers. We should also look at the accumulated numbers. Like the current turn numbers the gold and total commerce numbers are still close together, which is why I opt to show only the science with total commerce in parenthesis again.
- The Black Sword S4 = 6414 (5353)
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 4474 (3929)
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 4054 (3711)
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 3981 (3738)
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 3756 (3498)
Once again The Black Sword shows his talent. But once again we need to set these numbers into perspective with the maintenance cost:
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 1244
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 1477
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 1628
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 1933
- The Black Sword S4 = 3555
No wonder that the ORG leaders are doing well here. Once again we take the delta of gold and maintenance for a full picture:
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 2494
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 2301
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 2023
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 1802
- The Black Sword S4 = 1798
This looks like The Black Sword is doing worse, but remember that his current turn numbers are way better, so he is only on the rise right now.
- The Black Sword S4 = 62
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 24
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 14
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 12
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 11
Wow, just wow The Black Sword. It looks like Tarkeel is doing bad with his trait, but keep in mind that he isn't that far behind the others. Let's see if the same holds true in the cumulative numbers.
Here the accumulated numbers:
- The Black Sword S4 = 633
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 316
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 293
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 176
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 159
At least we now know how The Black Sword payed for all this with a heavy focus on commerce and I guess cottages.
Regular readers know that I also compare these numbers to the BtS implementation. Again the current turn numbers. I've also put the delta between CtH and BtS in parenthesis:
- The Black Sword S4 = 81 (19)
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 42 (18)
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 30 (18)
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 26 (12)
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 21 (10)
We see that everybody still has potential growth in terms of cottages and water tiles with lighthouses.
Let's turn to the accumulated numbers now. Again these are the BtS numbers with the difference towards CtH in parenthesis and the effectivness of my nerf in percent.
- The Black Sword S4 = 1440 (807) -56.04%
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 814 (521) -64.00%
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 789 (473) -59.95%
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 734 (575) -78.34%
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 422 (246) -58.29%
We see a similar pattern as with the following PBs after PB59. The lightnouse nerf has a huge impact right around this T100 mark. I expect that the reduction in percentage goes down by T150. Also and I hate to say this, but I think Tarkeel misplayed his trait by not focusing enough on cottages and/or lighthouses.
Now you might wonder, how this turned out without the lighthouse nerf. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated) with the reduction in percentage.
- The Black Sword S4 = 1090 -24.31%
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 480 -41.03%
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 509 -35.49%
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 296 -59.67%
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 257 -39.10%
We can see that the majority of the reduction comes from the simple increase from 1 extra commerce on 3 commerce tiles.
Protective Bonus
Here are the current turn numbers:
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 16
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 8
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 2
- The Black Sword S4 = 0
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 0
We see that PRO already shrinked to almost nothing. PRO was always destined to be economically inferior on this large map with so many foreign trade routes available. Let's go the accumulated numbers for a complete picture:
- The Black Sword S4 = 263
- Commodore S3 (PRO, ORG) = 257
- Superdeath S1 (PRO) = 242
- joshybravo S5 (ORG) = 201
- Tarkeel S2 (FIN) = 125
I expect these numbers more or less stay that way even for the late game. That doesn't mean that we need to buff PRO. We don't regularly play on these large maps. A lot of things are different when you play with so many players like for example the usefulness of Mercantilism on this map. PRO has it's use on a standard map.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not enough information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here:
- AGG is still in a firm 4th place, but I expect it to overtake PRO on this map
- Everybody loves running slavery. (The terrible things civ makes you write )
- The Black Sword and joshy both spawned a scientist
- The Black Sword had finished the Mausoleum of Mausolos. I think he may have been in a golden age right now, which might explain his current turn numbers.
Comparing traits
The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:
Not that much can be said about the traits that we didn't already know from future PBs
- ORG is taking a firm grip on 1st place as with other PBs around T100, but FIN is close by
- The rest is mostly as expected with FIN->PRO->AGG

T100 Island 2
Players on this island were naufragar S1, mackoti S2, Mr. Cairo S3, Amicalola S4, pindicator S5
First of all the city count:
- naufragar S1 (IMP) = 17
- Amicalola S4 = 15
- mackoti S2 (IMP) = 13
- Mr. Cairo S3 = 11
- pindicator S5 = 7
Next up the pop count as of T100.
- naufragar S1 = 66
- mackoti S2 = 58
- Amicalola S4 = 49
- Mr. Cairo S3 = 45
- pindicator S5 = 25
Keep in mind that pindicator was attacked by Amicalola and naufragar during these 50 turns, which explains a lot of the numbers for those players.
- naufragar S1 = 300 (256)
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 297 (194)
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 188 (187)
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 133 (132)
- pindicator S5 = 105 (81)
mackoti is showing us how strong those modifier buildings and specialists can be. For a complete picture we need to look at the current maintenance costs too:
- pindicator S5 = 48
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 67
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 109
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 114
- naufragar S1 = 153
Sweet sweet ORG, which makes you pay the same amount of maintenance as somebody with 2 fewer cities (Amicalola and mackoti). From the unit maintenance I can also say that everybody was already invested in military with Amicalola the highest (20) then mackoti (12+6 saved from AGG) then everybody else with 15 and 13
To get a better grasp of the actual economic potential we now take the delta of our gold and maintenance
- naufragar S1 = 103
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 80
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 78
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 65
- pindicator S5 = 33
Everybody moving forward at a steady and good pace it seems. But these are only the current turn numbers. We should also look at the accumulated numbers. Like the current turn numbers the gold and total commerce numbers are still close together, which is why I opt to show only the science with total commerce in parenthesis again.
- naufragar S1 = 5976 (5454)
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 5481 (4331)
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 4421 (4320)
- pindicator S5 = 3960 (3279)
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 3593 (3492)
Mr. Cairo is doing worse then the dying pindicator. That's never a good sign and we already know that mackoti will eliminate Mr. Cairo in the future. But once again we need to set these numbers into perspective with the maintenance cost:
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 1204
- pindicator S5 = 1304
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 1515
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 2118
- naufragar S1 = 3192
No wonder that the ORG leaders are doing well here. Once again we take the delta of gold and maintenance for a full picture:
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 2805
- naufragar S1 = 2262
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 2288
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 2213
- pindicator S5 = 1975
Very interesting we know that Amicalola's current turn numbers were middle of the road, still he managed to make more after maintenance then everybody else. Most likely to his trait ORG.
- naufragar S1 = 50
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 20
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 20
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 9
- pindicator S5 = 6
Looks like naufragar captured a good chunk of cottages? We also see signs that Mr. Cairo is not playing towards his trait. Let's see if the same holds true in the cumulative numbers.
Here the accumulated numbers:
- naufragar S1 = 713
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 262
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 270
- pindicator S5 = 182
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 135
Yes it does and it looks even worse for Mr. Cairo.
Regular readers know that I also compare these numbers to the BtS implementation. Again the current turn numbers. I've also put the delta between CtH and BtS in parenthesis:
- naufragar S1 = 74 (24)
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 41 (21)
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 36 (16)
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 28 (19)
- pindicator S5 = 18 (12)
We see that everybody still has potential growth in terms of cottages and water tiles with lighthouses.
Let's turn to the accumulated numbers now. Again these are the BtS numbers with the difference towards CtH in parenthesis and the effectiveness of my nerf in percent.
- naufragar S1 = 1363 (650) -47.69%
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 799 (529) -66.21%
- pindicator S5 = 641 (459) -71.61%
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 527 (265) -50.28%
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 503 (368) -73.16%
We see a similar pattern as with the following PBs after PB59. The lightnouse nerf has a huge impact right around this T100 mark. I expect that the reduction in percentage goes down by T150. Also and this will make life a little bit better for pindicator. Even on the decline you beat Amicalola in this category.
Now you might wonder, how this turned out without the lighthouse nerf. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated) with the reduction in percentage.
- naufragar S1 = 887 -34.92%
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 478 -40.18%
- pindicator S5 = 388 -39.47%
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 380 -27.89%
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 248 -50.70%
We can see that the majority of the reduction comes from the simple increase from 1 extra commerce on 3 commerce tiles.
Protective Bonus
Here are the current turn numbers:
- pindicator S5 = 2
- naufragar S1 = 1
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 0
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 0
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 0
We see that PRO already shrinked to almost nothing. PRO was always destined to be economically inferior on this large map with so many foreign trade routes available. Let's go the accumulated numbers for a complete picture:
- mackoti S2 (AGG) = 371
- naufragar S1 = 267
- pindicator S5 = 177
- Amicalola S4 (ORG) = 127
- Mr. Cairo S3 (FIN) = 83
I expect these numbers more or less stay that way even for the late game. That doesn't mean that we need to buff PRO. We don't regularly play on these large maps. A lot of things are different when you play with so many players like for example the usefulness of Mercantilism on this map and Amicalola has given us a great example for this. You might remember that in the past the Great Lighthouse was a great wonder for PRO and made it very profitable. Amicalola built the Great Lighthouse in T71, but still PRO was doing that much. That's how prevalent foreign trade routes were.
- Amicalola built the Good Lighthouse at T71
- mackoti built the Pyramids at T92
- pindicator and mackoti generated a scientist and Amicalola a prophet
Comparing traits
The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:
Not that much can be said about the traits that we didn't already know from future PBs
- ORG is taking a firm grip on 1st place as with other PBs around T100, but FIN is close by

T100 Island 3
Players on this island were Cornflakes S1, Jowy S2, Piccadilly S3, Frozen S4, Ichabod S5
First of all the city count:
- Piccadilly S3 = 16
- Frozen S4 = 15
- Ichabod S5 = 15
- Cornflakes S1 = 13
- Jowy S2 = 5
Next up the pop count as of T100.
- Ichabod S5 = 66
- Frozen S4 = 62
- Cornflakes S1 = 60
- Piccadilly S3 = 55
- Jowy S2 = 21
Keep in mind that Jowy was attacked by Piccadilly during these 50 turns, which explains a lot of the numbers for those players.
- Cornflakes S1 = 228 (171)
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 217 (216)
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 200 (177)
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 175 (174)
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 53 (52)
Once again we can see with Cornflakes that modifiers and specialist can provide a good chunk of science. Also be aware that Frozen is only 11 beakers behind Cornflakes without any modifiers. For a complete picture we need to look at the current maintenance costs too:
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 26
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 100
- Cornflakes S1 = 115
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 131
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 145
Sweet sweet ORG. For a great comparison look at Ichabod and Frozen who both have 15 cities and fairly equal pop. From the unit maintenance I can also say that Piccadilly is paying double (28) then everybody else (14) but then he is conquering Jowy right now.
To get a better grasp of the actual economic potential we now take the delta of our gold and maintenance
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 85
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 77
- Cornflakes S1 = 59
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 29
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 26
It's no surprise that Piccadilly is low in this category right now, after all he is conquering. But these are only the current turn numbers. We should also look at the accumulated numbers. Like the current turn numbers the gold and total commerce numbers are still close together, which is why I opt to show only the science with total commerce in parenthesis again.
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 5941 (5840)
- Cornflakes S1 = 5536 (4617)
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 4963 (4611)
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 4729 (4628)
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 2389 (2288)
Impressive numbers by Frozen. We will later see that a very good chunk came from FIN. But once again we need to set these numbers into perspective with the maintenance cost:
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 869
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 1769
- Cornflakes S1 = 2362
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 2998
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 3258
No wonder that the ORG leaders are doing well here. Once again we take the delta of gold and maintenance for a full picture:
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 2842
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 2582
- Cornflakes S1 = 2303
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 1630
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 1419
Very interesting we know that Ichabod's current turn numbers were middle of the road, still he managed to make more after maintenance then everybody else. Most likely to his trait ORG.
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 39
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 29
- Cornflakes S1 = 25
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 24
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 3
We already see a glimpse of a good use of FIN by Frozen. Let's see if the same holds true in the cumulative numbers.
Here the accumulated numbers:
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 704
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 456
- Cornflakes S1 = 320
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 245
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 69
Here we see why Frozen is doing so strong the past categories. Now Piccadilly is also FIN, but right is doing a lot worse mainly due to conflict I guess.
Regular readers know that I also compare these numbers to the BtS implementation. Again the current turn numbers. I've also put the delta between CtH and BtS in parenthesis:
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 57 (18)
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 50 (26)
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 47 (18)
- Cornflakes S1 = 42 (17)
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 6 (3)
We see that everybody still has potential growth in terms of cottages and water tiles with lighthouses. It also looks like Piccadilly was hit harder by the lighthouse nerf then his fellow FIN player Frozen.
Let's turn to the accumulated numbers now. Again these are the BtS numbers with the difference towards CtH in parenthesis and the effectiveness of my nerf in percent.
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 1312 (608) -46.34%
- Cornflakes S1 = 1083 (763) -70.45%
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 1021 (565) -55.34%
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 917 (672) -73.28%
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 180 (111) -61.67%
We see a similar pattern as with the following PBs after PB59. The lightnouse nerf has a huge impact right around this T100 mark. I expect that the reduction in percentage goes down by T150. I guess my suspection about Piccadilly and the lighthouse-nerf was right.
Now you might wonder, how this turned out without the lighthouse nerf. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated) with the reduction in percentage.
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 902 -31.25%
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 722 -29.29%
- Cornflakes S1 = 522 -51.80%
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 435 -52.56%
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 72 -60.00%
We can see that the majority of the reduction comes from the simple increase from 1 extra commerce on 3 commerce tiles.
Protective Bonus
Here are the current turn numbers:
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 18
- Cornflakes S1 = 12
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 0
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 0
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 0
We see that PRO already shrinked to almost nothing. PRO was always destined to be economically inferior on this large map with so many foreign trade routes available. I'm a bit surprised about the higher number for Ichabod. Let's go the accumulated numbers for a complete picture:
- Frozen S4 (FIN) = 347
- Piccadilly S3 (FIN) = 330
- Ichabod S5 (AGG, ORG) = 312
- Cornflakes S1 = 255
- Jowy S2 (AGG) = 189
I expect these numbers more or less stay that way even for the late game. That doesn't mean that we need to buff PRO. We don't regularly play on these large maps. A lot of things are different when you play with so many players like for example the usefulness of Mercantilism on this map.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not enough information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here:
- AGG is still in a firm 4th place, but I expect it to overtake PRO on this map
- Everybody loves running slavery. (The terrible things civ makes you write )
- Cornflakes started collecting wonders with Hanging Gardens (T92) and Great Wall (T96)
- Cornflakes generated a scientist
Comparing traits
The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:
Not that much can be said about the traits that we didn't already know from future PBs
- ORG is taking a firm grip on 1st place as with other PBs around T100, but FIN is close by
- The rest is mostly as expected with FIN->PRO->AGG

T100 Island 4
Players on this island were Miguelito S1, Elkad S2, civac S3, Automated Teller S4, Donovan Zoi S5
First of all the city count:
- civac S3 = 17
- Miguelito S1 = 15
- Donovan Zoi S5 = 10
- Elkad S2 = 10
- Automated Teller S4 = 4
Next up the pop count as of T100.
- civac S3 = 65
- Miguelito S1 = 60
- Elkad S2 = 47
- Donovan Zoi S5 = 36
- Automated Teller S4 = 12
Keep in mind that Automated Teller was attacked by civac during these 50 turns, which explains a lot of the numbers for those players.
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 288 (268)
- civac S3 (AGG) = 254 (227)
- Elkad S2 = 167 (110)
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 160 (122)
- Automated Teller S4 = 35 (34)
Once again we can see with Elkad that modifiers and specialist can provide a good chunk of science. We can also see that civac in the middle of a conquest and therefore was not able to improve his economy from that yet. For a complete picture we need to look at the current maintenance costs too:
- Automated Teller S4 = 27
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 72
- Elkad S2 = 78
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 134
- civac S3 (AGG) = 178
It's also worth mentioning that civac made very good use of his trait AGG. I'm pretty sure he ran the biggest army in the game at this moment. He was paying 35 and AGG reduced his unit maintenance to 18, so he was actually running a army with 53 unit maintenance. Maybe this was overkill against Automated Teller?
To get a better grasp of the actual economic potential we now take the delta of our gold and maintenance
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 134
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 76
- civac S3 (AGG) = 46
- Elkad S2 = 32
- Automated Teller S4 = 7
Here we see what I mean with civac not improving his economy yet. That's an impressive number from Miguelito. Now keep in mind that he built himself the Colossus in T80. But these are only the current turn numbers. We should also look at the accumulated numbers. Like the current turn numbers the gold and total commerce numbers are still close together, which is why I opt to show only the science with total commerce in parenthesis again.
- civac S3 (AGG) = 5763 (5426)
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 5486 (5315)
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 4412 (3630)
- Elkad S2 = 4007 (3239)
- Automated Teller S4 = 3174 (3073)
Looks like civac managed to built a lead before his conquest, but Miguelito is gaining on him. But once again we need to set these numbers into perspective with the maintenance cost:
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 1276
- Automated Teller S4 = 1463
- Elkad S2 = 1727
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 2510
- civac S3 (AGG) = 3881
Once again we take the delta of gold and maintenance for a full picture:
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 2805
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 2392
- Automated Teller S4 = 1610
- civac S3 (AGG) = 1530
- Elkad S2 = 1512
Interesting to see civac behind his victim Automated Teller. More importantly though we see that Miguelito is actually in the lead.
- civac S3 (AGG) = 51
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 48
- Elkad S2 = 14
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 8
- Automated Teller S4 = 1
We already see a glimpse of the two top players on this island. Let's see if the same holds true in the cumulative numbers.
Here the accumulated numbers:
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 648
- civac S3 (AGG) = 635
- Elkad S2 = 150
- Automated Teller S4 = 139
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 117
It's undeniable that Miguelito is using his trait FIN well. Regular readers know that I also compare these numbers to the BtS implementation. Again the current turn numbers. I've also put the delta between CtH and BtS in parenthesis:
- civac S3 (AGG) = 66 (15)
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 59 (11)
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 25 (17)
- Elkad S2 = 23 (9)
- Automated Teller S4 = 2 (1)
We see that everybody still has potential for growth in terms of cottages and water tiles with lighthouses.
Let's turn to the accumulated numbers now. Again these are the BtS numbers with the difference towards CtH in parenthesis and the effectiveness of my nerf in percent.
- civac S3 (AGG) = 1491 (856) -57.41%
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 1214 (566) -46.62%
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 640 (523) -81.72%
- Elkad S2 = 471 (321) -68.15%
- Automated Teller S4 = 412 (273) -66.26%
We see a similar pattern as with the following PBs after PB59. The lightnouse nerf has a huge impact right around this T100 mark. I expect that the reduction in percentage goes down by T150.
Now you might wonder, how this turned out without the lighthouse nerf. Thankfully I still tracked the non-lighthouse nerf variant, which looked like this (accumulated) with the reduction in percentage.
- civac S3 (AGG) = 870 -41.65%
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 785 -35.34%
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 431 -32.66%
- Elkad S2 = 331 -29.72%
- Automated Teller S4 = 253 -38.59%
We can see that the majority of the reduction comes from the simple increase from 1 extra commerce on 3 commerce tiles.
Protective Bonus
Here are the current turn numbers:
- civac S3 (AGG) = 19
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 0
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 0
- Elkad S2 = 0
- Automated Teller S4 = 0
We see that PRO already shrinked to almost nothing. PRO was always destined to be economically inferior on this large map with so many foreign trade routes available. I'm a bit surprised about the higher number for Ichabod. Let's go the accumulated numbers for a complete picture:
- civac S3 (AGG) = 447
- Elkad S2 = 240
- Donovan Zoi (PRO) S5 = 237
- Miguelito S1 (FIN) = 235
- Automated Teller S4 = 126
I expect these numbers more or less stay that way even for the late game. That doesn't mean that we need to buff PRO. We don't regularly play on these large maps. A lot of things are different when you play with so many players like for example the usefulness of Mercantilism on this map.
Misc
I'm tracking a lot more but there is not enough information there to justify an own paragraph. Therefore a little summary here:
- AGG is still in a firm 4th place, but I expect it to overtake PRO on this map
- Everybody loves running slavery. (The terrible things civ makes you write )
- Miguelito built Colossus in T80
- Miguelito generated an engineer and Elkad and Donovan both a scientist

The main goal of all this tracking of course is to compare the economic traits related around commerce income or maintenance reduction. So let's do this:

- ORG is taking a firm grip on 1st place as with other PBs around T100, but FIN is close by
- The rest is mostly as expected with FIN->PRO->AGG
- Also take note of the unusual high AGG number for civac and still AGG is in 4th.
