The Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, and the civ4 wonder, any other references?

CROSS for sure.
MEXICO standing in for Brazil?
Christ’s Redemption in DEATH?
Maybe an overlapping clue for MODEL as a statue is a scale model?
I’m not sure what the construction material is, but I don’t think it is IRON.

Don’t see any words associated with the civ4 wonder effect letting you swap civics without anarchy.

The Christo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro is similar to a CROSS.
It also makes me think of a TOWER and can perhaps be seen as a symbol of DEATH?

Is there any other meaning to Redentor?

CROSS - TOWER - DEATH for me.

Point to CROSS

Agree that the clue is referring to Chirst the Redeemer in Rio. Apart from the words already mentioned, the only other connection that I see is with FAN, referring to the pilgrims who journey there. But that's a weak option, we can do better.

Why is the clue Redentor not Redeemer? I think it's pointing us to the Latin world, with MEXICO in place for Brazil.
Why is the clue about the statue at all, rather than Christianity more generally? I think it's pointing to TOWER.

So I would say Redentor 3 is CROSS/MEXICO/TOWER, with DEATH as a +1 in case we get something wrong (but otherwise MODEL as the +1 from the previous round).

CROSS/MEXICO/DEATH wouldn't make you think of the statue in Rio. It could simply be clued as Catholic 3.
CROSS/DEATH/TOWER, you'd say Reedemer not Redemptor.

(It's possible that TOWER is a overlapping clue with Poolside, but we'll worry about that when prepping for the next clue.)

I still like TOWER over MEXICO as it`s a more clear-cut connection. But both may well be blue. TOWER, MEXICO (or the other way around) and then DEATH as our +1 is fine.

@Azoth: How would Redeemer pick up TOWER? It`s not obvious to me as a non-English speaker.

Okay, so reading El Grillo`s post again, the statue is called The Christ of the Redeemer in English. Surely there is a reason to clue the Latin word instead of Redeemer, which would make you think of DEATH. So I`m actually not that keen on DEATH.

Yep, this is what I thought, except from the opposite direction. The reason to clue the Latin word is to suggest a Latin country, MEXICO.

We'll see what El Grillo says, but I'm happy with TOWER - MEXICO - MODEL next.

I'm a little torn on MEXICO because I think some spymasters would consider it close enough to clue a Spanish-speaking country with a Portuguese word and others wouldn't, and I'm in the former camp but I don't know about T-Hawk. That said, I like MEXICO a lot more than TOWER personally, because as far as I know it's solid construction with no interior staircase or elevator, and there's no observation deck at the top, so you can't really use it as a tower.
