Yes, you could play Harpoon as a board game. Mind you, the board was the floor because the game required a LOT of space, you placed the ship / missile / torpedo counters on it, and you used a tape measure to measure distances between objects Consequence of ship movement speeds being very slow compared to detection and weapons range.

Well, I tried to eliminate Bing but the RNG was not having it.
Cut my losses after losing the first 2 horse archers and only getting 2 hits in total on the spear. I'm not sure when I'll try again now, as SucksatCiv seems to be moving up a small axe stack and Bing now has a Great General that he could use to really beef up the defenders.
Mjmd is doing exactly what I said he would do, so I'm really kicking myself for not anticipating that he would put a settler here sooner (and whipping out a settler of my own).
I'm sorry Hitru, but if he uses his Great Artist there then I'm going to declare war and throw my game.
But it may not be throwing because I see two people now have Machinery. So I have to think Superdeath and Mjmd are the two who are both 1 step away from Guilds and Knights. I have to admit, this makes me sad. Really second guessing my choice to go after Bing now as it seems that we are too far behind and Superdeath & Mjmd have managed to overcome the tech hurdles a lot faster than I expected anyone to be able to.
In short, I fear I'm dead meat in 10 turns. Mjmd is already building up cats and defensive stacks along our border.
Truly, I just don't have a good plan for the next bit. And without a plan I tend to lose focus ... and drive.

Hopefully Hitru is available to help come up with ideas and plans, then

Stay on target. There's a lot of game left, and you've a lot of experience to bring to the table. Plus, of course Hitru. This thread is too good for you to give up on .

Okay, let's start problem solving then:
Missionaries are 6 and 10 tiles away from Scythe (previously Cuzco), while the 3rd missionary is 2 turns out but being built in Puerto Rico (14 tiles). I am pretty certain the first 3 missionaries are going to go to Carcassone, King of Tokyo, and Risk now - and Scythe & Dixit will pick up second wave missionaries. Ollan is a nice surpise in that it already has Judaism.
Most cities came out of anarchy at the end of last turn and we're only waiting on Ollantaytambo in the west now. But in the meantime, what is the fastest way to get these guys up to speed?
Scythe (previously Cuzco) needs to get borders popped due to having FOUR food bonuses in its second ring. So whipping a library there first. This probably means we don't put one of our initial settlers there.
Dixit is already going down the library path to get its wheat under culture as fast as possible. Similarly, King of Tokyo has a 2nd ring Fish. Though KoT is only size 3 and so it might be better to whip a monument there? If I whip the monument and then move the first missionary there then that means we can get the Fish worked in 8 turns. Or I ignore the monument and only go missionary for culture to get the Fish in 13 turns (essentially trading 15f for 30h). Risk has a whale in its 2nd ring, but is probably going to need to wait for Scythe to pop borders and then farm a grassland to get any food increase. So I don't think culture is as much of a rush there - though it is a bit of a rush just because we have a CRE city 3 tiles away.
I've listed the expenses and the current commerce each city is costing and bringing in with yellow and green respectively. With these numbers I believe it makes more sense to build Courthouses (120h) ahead of Markets (150h with +50% bonus). But if I want to build both, then does it make sense to build forges everywhere first? Or strategically is it better to get the commerce buildings and then go for the production?
Things to think about while I wait for Superdeath to send me the turn right before I leave for running club tonight.

Let's assume we get religion in place before any cities are ready to whip.
Forges will cost me 120 / 1.25 = 96 "true" hammers
Courthouses will cost 120 / 1.25 = 96
Markets will cost 150 / 1.75 = 86
If we go forges first then:
Courthouses will cost 120/1.5 = 80
Markets will cost 150 / 2 = 75
Forges first then will save us 27 hammers over the course of those two buildings. (And that is a best case, not counting for any hammers lost to rounding.) However, I think even if I could whip all 3 buildings every other turn over 6 turns, that would lead to costing me 15 to 20 gold for each city. But since we cannot build all 3 so fast then I will lose even more.
So I believe the correct order is Courthouse > Market > Forge, after popping borders.

It's a feint!
Cornflakes is saying he wants me to attack Mjmd ... and he gives me Sheep/Clam... WTF is Sheep/Clam? Does he mean he'll "let me" have Clank! if I help him fight Mjmd? Well, in any case, he's got an army ready to hit something:
I sent some diplo back:
And no, I really have no idea what I meant by the resources there.
I started moving half of my forces in Bing's homeland back towards my core. Not sure what is going to happen with that, but I can't bring everything back because SucksAtCiv has just a huge stack of units in the city he captured from Bing. Until I can get some longbows and culture in Ollan I'm not able to bring everything back. Swapepd some cities back to units, but some I kept on courthouses. I really need to get Cornflakes to declare on Mjmd ... and even better, do so without declaring myself.

Well what would it take to raze those two obnoxious cities and replace with something defensive? Because MJMD deserves the war dec.
Those maced, do they get CR? Don't know about the mod effects.
Also why no vassalage?
