This was discussed in the past. The length of an GA is determined at the start of the GA. Therefore if you obsolete MoM it does not reduce your GA time. There is one exception to this rule if I'm right and that is when you finish MoM. This triggeres a recalculation of the GA time adding more time to it.

Thank you and sorry for bothering you with an already discussed question. But the thread is 128 pages long as of now.

Oh don't worry. I wasn't annoyed. I just wanted to make sure we don't start a big discussion about something we discussed already at length in the past.

Might be worth it to add this to the changelog for MoM: Note that obsoletion will not change the duration of an already ongoing golden age.

I remembered that I wanted to push for a buff to bazaars. It is truly uncommon to make them do something noticeable (or often, at all) compared to normal markets in a reasonable timeframe. In PB64 I only managed it under a very specific set of circumstances (Merc; GLH; Protective; Castles; Old Circumnav; Islands; Expansive Harbours). I basically lucked into the ideal circumstance, and at that point they were were like 4 commerce (requiring the harbour as well). In fact, now that Circumnav has been changed, they actually would have been identical to normal markets there. And Persia's techs suck and UU is ok(?) at best. So yeah, I think we need to do something. At least upping the trade boost to 50%.

Another change that comes to mind could be giving them Agri/Wheel instead, to bring them more in line with Egypt.

Back in PB64 you played the last 2.x version which only had it at 25%. In 3.x it's already increased to 50%

I'm collecting the changes for version 4.X. So far I have

- Remove the forest preserve change
- Remove the fort change
- Roman UU: Increase cost to 50 from 45.
- Great Lighthouse: Only +1 trade route instead of +2 and obsolete at Paper

It's not much but I would be ready to put this into a 4.0 version. If nobody objects or sees anything else that requires change/discussion.

IMHO, those changes feels more like a 3.1 than 4.0.

My versioning system right now is the following

First number = for actual gameplay changes
Second number = code changes that break save games
Third number = bugfixes

For the final version I would also like to bring up the American UB. It just feels pushed. Normally I would just wait for someone to bust it before brining it back up, but since this is the last version I wanted to bring it up.

Just as a comparison lets take The Great Wall. I will argue the research boost of library is equal ish to the actual bonus on The Great Wall for one city. I've certainly built The Great Wall JUST for the great people points (I've done this with other wonders as well). Assume stone Great Wall costs 100 hammers and you can only build it it one city. Basically what I'm trying to say is that America gets to build a wonder worth of great people generation in each city. Generating and using great people is a key feature throughout civ4 and the America UB just makes it trivial in a way no other UB does to whatever its doing.

I'll also bring up the obvious comparison in forum. It absolutely demolishes the effect of the forum on an earlier building.
