Sorry, been checked out of the thread the last few days, we've had a flood of training and police certs to organise at work on top of my usual quota of collection permits and traffic accodent abstracts.
On the picks for the game, I'm easy on when we submit them, pre or post map reveal. In terms of email I'm briandmoseanachain at gmail &c and in terms of window weekdays is 6:00 to 11:00 pm Irish time on weekdays (though every other Wednesday will be post 10:00 due to Toastmasters). Weekends are flexible.
On Q's succession game idea, I'd love to join in, but summer'd probably be better as this game would be bedded in.
PS are we playing with Qs changes?

Imo we should play with my changes (note there is a bug with Bannor State, so just ignore that civic), though as I've said, we can restore bronze weapons to warriors if you'd prefer. Mig, it doesn't change any traits, so just install EitB v12 the normal way - and if you're ready, download and paste the asset files over the relevant ones.
Edit: in terms of play time, my preferred window is 5am GMT to 10am GMT (6-11pm NZT), and I can be found at hawk 2370 at the usually googly place.

- Q, where do I get the assetfiles? Or are they what you are going to release to patch in the changes? I remember there was a 12.1 version that I downloaded from some dropbox before PBEM54, but that should not be required in this case, right?

Sorry for not being active in the thread. Anyway, everything written by Q (the changes) are fine by me. I like the change to warriors, nice idea Q! My best playing time is 18:00 - 22:00 GMT.
Decided full settings somewhere? Start techs etc. ? Or is it this:

Based on our mapmaker, I think I'd prefer generated, lightly edited. In terms of settings, I like the script/settings used in PB64 (though given balancing through civs there might be issues with lack of terrain)

I'll add a bunch of notes about how to balance for FFH2 later (e.g. managing coast etc.)
Climate? No preference
Blessings of Amatheon? I don't mind - FFH2 MP tends to leave this on by default but I've been playing a few games with it off and enjoying it.

In terms of start, as I see it there are three options (assuming we don't want to fool around with late-game start):
Normal start, no change
Discovery (see here for a breakdown)
Modified Discovery (my preference).
I would modify Discovery to: remove Hunting, Bronze Working, Archery (as these give tier 2 units - I think the rationale for including them is to allow all tiles to be modified). I can also see an argument for adding a warrior and/or scout, and a worker - both these would just speed up the game by 20ish turns. I could also see an argument for removing Mysticism, as it makes it very fast to get a religion, and everyone just revolts to Godking T1. For a similar reason I could see an argument for adding Hunting, as otherwise FotL is artificially further away than the other two religions.
In terms of picking civ/leader, as discussed earlier I would favour picking from three randomly generated.

Also. New assets files to EitB 12.1. or to EitB 12? Or does it even matter?
EDIT: I noticed anyone can revolt to Bannor State on T1. I guess this is not supposed to be the case?

Yes that's an error with Bannor State. I can fix it (though we can also all ignore it). It shouldn't matter what the files called though, let's just call it EitB v12
We probably should have decided this earlier, but what starting techs? I'd say Discovery minus Archery/Bronze Working.
Re diplomacy, I assume AI? We've done a public diplo thread in the past, which i could take or leave.
