They focussed their forces on my Bireme, please move it back during your turn inside my borders and heal it.

Our combined attack on his leader luckily meant that he now will have to heal, sadly he will be able to do so in Agoge next turn as he conquers the city on his next turn. I am considering to rush my Warrior in Urban planning next turn, firstly to have more units available for defense, but also so I can queue a Chariot right after it.

I got free Rhetoric as a tech from an education event for my heir, that is nice, but I need barracks and units right now and will probably have to invest my civics into rushing just to stay alive. I think we can try to put up a fight, depending how quickly and good they act down here (and the number of mistakes I make) it might be over soon.

I will move the Bireme on my turn.

I am churning out units, but I see now how orders limit my ability to shift units down.

Folks, I want to apologize to y'all and especially to Kaiser for my inability to concentrate on this game. In December/November, I really thought I'd be able to focus on it like I did my Civ PBEMs, but instead I have been completely disengaged. Kaiser has put a ton of effort in and I havne't matched it at all. I really do feel guilty about this.

For the record, Kaiser has been unendingly patient and polite with me, has never pressed me to pay more attention, never chastised me for my many mistakes - all of which could have been avoided had I engaged with him better. He's been an excellent teammate throughout and I'm just sorry I didn't hold up my end. Thanks for everything, Kaiser. Hope we can tough this out and put up a fight in the end, and if I do another PBEM, I'll do better.

I really do hope to see another PBEM on Old World. I've always loved reading your reports and would love to see how your planning and strategy evolves as you gain an understanding of how the game works!

The biggest change I've noticed is that I'm a bit older now, which may limit my mental flexibility somewhat (I don't learn as fast now), but more importantly I have so many more responsibilities - basically I have a 40 minute window in the morning to play before work, and then spare moments snatched at work when I have my lesson plans/grades under control. Do I spend that time trying to advance my AGEOD campaign, or struggling to work out Old World and doing a good report for it? :/ So far I've chosen AGEOD since it's more familiar and comfortable, and the reports are easier to write. Plus I feel like I'm "making progress" as I get closer to the end date in Wars of Napoleon, so while I try to always make sure and play my Old World turn on time, that's about all it gets. frown

No worries, I can relate to time constraints keeping you from your hobbies. Luckily I get to spend some time on it.

I really hope we will get another game going which develops better as the game shines in the warfare segment when both players have established armies, enough training and courtiers for promotions and generals and a production base to replace losses. Good order usage and smart terrain utilization decide battles.
Right now I went to deep harassing early and now am scrambeling to defend my cities, this will be difficult to overcome especially as Ginger is developping like a weed and Carthage is inherently strong in Rexing with its native ability of hiring tribal units to clear camps and civics snowball (each settled city brings 200 civics)

Oops, I thought we were waiting for Ginger to return from his trip but it seems the save has been with me for a week or so. For some reason my email account sorted the reminder email to spam even though all saves before worked just fine.

The quiet before the storm, I keep churning units to egalize the military down here

Meanwhile CMF is closing in with his troops to relief the pressure a bit. I had 13 orders spare (because my military was killed) and decided to claim this site for him as a Chapmion city as it is forward and will likely need to produce units. I hope that choice was correct for you, waiting was not an option as Ginger could have moved one of Bruindane's tribal units onto the site blocking you from settling until it is killed

I clear the lower site on my turn, and also launch attacks on a horse skirmisher near Aeminium. Pretty sure he can just run away, but I'm learning and besides hitting stuff is fun!
