[Spoilers]Pindicator With All the First Strikes in PB71

I've been casually watching the World Chess Championship, though I'm several games behind the current result (I've alread been spoiled on results so no worries there), so I'm going to use Ding Liren being invited to play due to Magnus Carlsen backing out as a close enough analogy to me getting to play here due to mackoti finding himself unable to play.  Though I mean no insult to Mr. Liren by my self comparison.  So I think something chess-related for a naming theme.  Top FIDE ranking individuals, or past World Champions, or something along those lines.  Named openings perhaps?

As for the game itself, lately I'm less about "playing to win" and more about exploring different ways of playing.  Not blazing any new ground or looking for anything radically different, but just stretching my own limitations and looking for new ways to think about the game.  I think random games fit in nicely with that since they force you to adapt to a new situation and less into the well-treaded ground of the usual RB opener.

In any case, I'm looking forward to a new challenge.

World Champions would be neat, as some well-known openings would be awkward as city names (e.g. London, Spanish, Italian, Scandinavian, etc. almost sounds like you're a barbarian or a city state).

The games have definitely been fun to follow this year.

Chess already has named locations built right in. e1 would be your capital, e4, f3, c4 would be your first few moves. Then relocate your capital to g1 later. smile

Serious suggestion, how about famous games? Immortal, Opera, Century, Immortal Zugzwang, Kasparov v World.

One other point - "Mr. Liren" is an inaccuracy, Ding is his family name.

My proclivity for not using the same phrase twice got the better of me there. I had already addressed him by his full name and so it felt wrong to write that twice. Would Mr. Ding be the correct appellation? What is the norm for formal address of Chinese names?

I have no idea; there's this amazingly deep rabbit hole but doesn't really give any answer to that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_name

Mr. Ding would be fine. In contrast, just Liren would be oddly personal.

So who wants to see me bulb Machinery as IND + PRO Japan?

I think it would be tough to bulb, sadly, without being PHI. I'll have to settle for either trying my odds on a mixed GP pool, building the Oracle and trying to Oracle Machinery, or (most likely) going for Currency and then rushing Machinery straight after.

A lot will depend on the game, but Machinery is definitely going to be a priority this game
