Alright, I'm happy to be swayed. I agree its a beautiful shape. I just wish there were islands...

I also like #2. #1 some of the people are REAL close. Shape and neighbor balance also look better in #2.
Only comment on capital balance is we should probably either make them all plains hill or all not. At least make them move turn 1 to a plains hill if they want (IE I wouldn't change any surrounding tiles). Only other comment is: this is the "green" version right? or is this some other map script.
My vote would be for 2, without having had a close look at the starts. No islands is sad but if that's the script they asked for... and map#2 has one at least to fight over. are you supposed to add copper, or explicitly not? I don't think plains hills are necessary.
Copper, iron and horse has been balanced. Not always immediately to them, but to a place where they're definitely 'theirs'.

Yep, this is Green. Mig, there's some islands on Map #2, though very few. I'm seeing 3 (Tarkeel, Scooter, Amicaloa) for Map #1, and 2 (Mig and MJMD) for Map #2. I'll pull the trigger sometime tomorrow.
