Lol. You forced me into doing that.
"I fucking hate myself. Jumped into the game to grab a screenshot and maybe talk more about the potential war with Rome - and discovered Superdeath killed half of my army. Absolutely no reason for him to do it: he needs his units more than I do and we ended up making white peace what I wanted from the outset. We ended up with the same result we both wanted, only with fewer units for both of us, a perfect lose-lose situation. Pretty pissed at both SD and myself: I did not expect him to attack because I was offering peace and the attack would serve no purpose at all. Serves me well to expect SD to behave in a rational and honorable manner.
There will be no more reporting from me for a while, go thank SD for that."
You came forward iirc, with a sizeable stack. Your cav's were fairly well promoted and likely could have shred'd even my few rifles i had in my city. I was FINE with you having taken the 2? 3? cities you had taken from me. It looked to me like you were attempting to finish me off when my true anger was directed towards Mjmd and Tarkeel.
Then at the end when i was making galleys? That wasnt to attack you man. It was to invade the islands of tarkeel/mjmd and maybe raze something important of theirs. You finishing off my final main city kinda screwed with that plan.
I hope you can not hold a grudge in future games. I certainly dont.
I do not hold any grudges and, rest assured, do not have anything against you personally. You should not expect me to target you specifically in future games if this is what you are worried about and in this game we had, I think, a pretty good relationship until the very end. I do not take games seriously enough to have personal vendettas over them.
It is a fact, however, that you play loose with "don't be a dick" rule. Our previous game where you gave me blatantly false promises in diplo window (fish for fish just a couple turns before attacking me) is an even better example of this and I do not think anyone else would spite-whip cities - you did this at least for the second time to me. This is your right, there is no explicit prohibition on any of this and I certainly would agree that a dramatic betrayal can spice up a game once in a while. Also, having a resident enfant terrible brings healthy variety to the community. So, broadly speaking, I do not mind. But do not be surprised if people, for example, would not take in-game promises made to you as seriously, as they take promises made to players with more honorable reputation.
(Also, I want to take back what I wrote back then about your attack on my stack. I forgot that you were losing money and would be probably forced to delete some of these units in the future anyway. With this in mind, your actions make much more sense.)
Oh, one more thing. I recall when I saw on civstats you took a city from mjmd, I was really worried you took Kazan (the island city close to me). It would be an enourmous pain because capturing it would mean pissing off mjmd and not capturing it would mean leaving my own coastal cities open to your galleys (I did not really have a fleet in this area). So, it was a great relief when I logged in and saw you sailed in the opposite direction.

i spite-whip and burn my own improvements because it feels like the right thing to do if you are going to be conquered. Makes it (hopefully) less likely to get attacked by people that should have/were been allies. Rest assured, i didnt do it specifically to you.
i for 90% of all fish/fish/ect dealings am being truthful. The issue with ai diplo is that (and in that game you are mentioning specifically) my only real expansion path was thru you. I HAD to hope to trick you at some point into not either being aware of it, or being occupied elsewhere.
I specifically didnt capture that island city with my galleys because i figured you would take it immediately. I had some vague hope that Mjmd would let me live on that 1tile sheep island.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. ![[Image: noidea.gif]](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif) In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

"I specifically didnt capture that island city with my galleys because i figured you would take it immediately" - heh, it would be hard for me to do actually, because my fleet there was actually weaker than yours. Of course, I could build a transport or two at any point, my heroic epic city is right there but I would rather build triple-promoted land units than useless boats. And yes, avoiding anything that can provoke mjmd is very important for me in the game and recapturing "his" city would certainly qualify. So, you could have put me in a really unpleasant position

Plemo did something that caused him to lose 184 points during his turn. Did he nuke himself? I am lost for explanations.

I have noticed PBSpy sometimes glitches and combines whips into one line. Maybe this was a particularly extreme version of that where he did a ton of whips quickly and they registered as one? Just a wild guess.

Could be. I think even self-nuking - with a single nuke, at least - cannot cause that much damage. So I am out of ideas otherwise

Congratulations, mighty conqueror. Believe it or not, after Amica had made sure that it wouldn't be us, I had always been rooting for you to win ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) . Just maybe I shouldhave thought through what that would mean for us...
Anyway, looks like you have a good shot, so best of luck!

Thanks man! You were such a nice sport. And you played a nice game, watching your war with Amica from afar was very entertaining. And it was really Amica's fault that you had no chances, after he attacked you did the most you could, I think.
A question: how did the matchup of mass cannons vs mass MGs look from your perspective? Did it go better than you expected, worse than you expected? I am a bit torn here. On paper I should be very pleased about how our exchanges went, I exhausted your army by mostly spending my second-tier units. On the other hand, I kind of expected MGs to do a much better job and also there were several high XP mounted units I brought to groom into commandos. There loss hurt a lot as I do not have reliable ways to produce commando units for nuclear war.
It could be that I just did not have enough of MGs. The decision to attack you was rather spontaneous, I only had a few turns to build up a counter to your doomstack.

A quick note on the state of the game. I am winning now. My mfg hit 3000 this turn to 2300 for the best rival which is actually Tarkeel. I am somewhat behind in useful commerce output (GDP is a meaningless indicator now due to too much culture and research builds) but I will fix it after I revolt to normal civics (soon!) My ascend to dominant position is due to a combination of me consuming Mig and Plemo getting crippled by his war with mimd. Just to illustrate the degree of Plemo's problem - he is getting 12 hammers from his Mining Inc to 14 from my CreCon. The decision not go to war with him is completely vindicated.
My golden age is due in 4 turns (12 percent to get a wrong GP though). I will most likely win the Internet race: Plemo and Tarkeel can get Computers a turn or two before me but I still should be able to build the thing faster due to extra GA hammers. I think me building the Internet will trigger concession or possibly even my GA.
The only realistic scenario of me losing at that point is Tarkeel attacking and being surprisingly succesful. But it will be very hard for him to seriously hurt me as it is very difficult to reach any high-value targets of mine from his territory.

Could the others attack you?
