[spoilers] Commodore's 69 Techniques

E: T188 already? Tech rate isn't that much slower here than it was in 66, and a lot quicker than 64.
Yeah, it's not been as nasty as 64, not nearly, but it might change. I spent a bit on a sword upgrade this turn, as I spread a GG onto these:

...Timur joined the axe and so is getting a free upgrade. I'll be staging behind bock one more turn...

...all to move in Turn 192. I don't expect Pindicator to absorb much, but he should keep the north safe enough at least. I want need those juicy towns if I'm to keep up with the rocketing-ahead tech pace. I'm secure enough now, but this empire can literally die in 2 turns to destroyers/transports.

Good progress. I'll be at 21 risengarde when I go it, although two will be stragglers. 83 units will be in the initial stack, which I think is enough to absorb Bing's current ten catapults with his army and still trade okay. I'm not fond of how much low-power units remain, but the 13 horse archers there will not only absorb catapult hits but that's an incredibly useful crew for tactical road pillaging, etc.

I'm not fond of how much Pindicator will be getting for free. I think I can snipe the GLH (currently guarded by an axe) without him going nuts, but he's still going to clean up the Best Land in the World (former Superdeathia). On the plus side though, the mature cottages are all in the south. Still no idea if Magic Science will be much/any use here, given Noggle's clear plans to attack. Ideally, actually, Noaufrauter holds off for just 3-4 turns, MS gets stuck in, and then Noogolboofer plows in and stops MS from gaining more.

Interesting times...

Well crap. banghead banghead banghead

Pot-committed though, let's see if those sixty-some-odd units head out this turn or if we get one more move.

Also, you know how I said I might be able to snipe the axe-only GLH city? Well, still only guarded by an axe. So, I move the horses and...

Been a while since I've seen one of those. Double-Ouch.
Playing: PB74
Played: PB58 - PB59 - PB62 - PB66 - PB67
Dedlurked: PB56 (Amicalola) - PB72 (Greenline)

Eh, it's okay. Bing covered his GLH city anyway, so damage on the HA was moot:
...it's fine, I'll snipe one city and then just hang out, this is Pindicator Land.

So the Norglfur attack actually turns out *did* matter, Bing moved his stack to vulture...
...so in we go:

I'll be looking at Taetan's garrison with extreme interest. If he keeps it lightly guarded it'll be worth the loss of 3-4 Guerilla 2 risengarde to kill it next turn, stripping away the culture. Diving straight for the capital over hills is the plan.

I'm sure this is about the 3-way-split, but that's fine, we're the three best PYFT players in the game; we're still going to finish before the MS/Nuffleglug pair.

These initial turns are always so fun. All the catapults against the castle were enough to drop defenses by 20%, which means the risengarde got good odds:
...no losses, just hit points down the tube. Only problem is that not a lot of culture got cleared.
I kept the city, for what it's worth. All my protective CG promotions makes it almost as good as a hill to defend, and I want this inner sea secure.

Clearing the next was more costly, lost a couple early risengardes, then annoyingly a risengarde and a musket at 98% win odds later... rant
[Image: hrLRd4j.jpg]
...but burned, in the end. Worth resettling if I win, but too much to spread right now, I want to tear Bing's spine out.
Not sure where his super-stack is, if he just goes in with the knights I'm happy, if he goes at the speed of the catapults I can burn hill roads and he'll be in trouble hitting me thanks to my culture setup.
Still massing more risengarde, eager to resolve the Main Event.

WHERE ARE YOUR KNIGHTS, BING?
Making me extremely nervous here, he can't be choosing to go Gavagai against Magic Science, can he? MS did go ahead and DoW him.

My trap sense tingled...G2 muskets checks to see if there's his siege stack there, and sure enough...
Bing's stripped all his garrisons up north and is handing the entire territory up there to Pindicator. If I can weather his storm on defensive ground I can endure it well enough, but I have to heal all my wounded risengarde first. It's the ugly math equation style war: My 15 build queues against his 12 (soon to be 10 with Q-Pin taking those last two). It's a math equation I can win, but not something that works if I take bad trades.

How screwed would I be without Germany's UU, seriously.

Oof, I'm having PB66 flashbacks. Do you think he'll hit your stack next, or wait until you're at the walls?
