Yes, that is the case, since if the MS war declaration against pindicator actually went through, you would automatically declare on MS due to the defensive pact, which is (normally) not an intended interaction

The fun part as I discovered in 58 is that a war declaration from a defensive pact will break your other pacts.
That makes sense, right? For the same reason you can't sign a DP whilst at peace.

Well that makes it two mechanics I got wrong last turn.

Was it the mechanic you got wrong, or just the game state? First turn of strike is "free" (no deserters), so might as well lean in. The mechanic keeps track of the number of "STRIKE" turns you've had all game long, increasing the number of units it disbands with each one, no matter how many (or if any) non-strike turns have happened in between. On the first turn, the number is indeed zero, but it looks like you used that one up already this game. (More than three months ago, wow! I wouldn't have remembered either if you hadn't made that comment and jogged my memory....) I got a sarcastic amount of beakers from my ruins. ![]() ...and I'm not sure, but I think this is Pindicator offering to help me conquer Nuffles, me gaining everything... ![]() Which he's got to know is also sarcastic, right? I could capture all of Spain, with the shrine and Spiral Minaret, and it still would take me too long to recover. I'd be up to factories by the time Pindicator could rain nukes. It really is sad, but there's nothing left in the tank, economy-wise, here in Germany. All those beautiful Bingian towns are going to be wasted, sadly...the recovery just takes a couple dozen turns, and Pindicator with proper focus will have BOMBERS and TANKS in a dozen turns.

My path to victory, such as it is, depends very much on the coordination with my allies. Pindicator's mobile stacks here aren't enough to stop Magic Science's entire army, he has a shot at getting back in the game with all of the Squandered Lands. But more likely, all of this gets thrown directly at me, burning and razing...
![]() ...and this is all I have to block so far. Slavery next turn, I need to whip TWENTY of my cities to mass the cannons and risengardes. ![]() Oh, also, Pin almost has galleons.

Opened the turn to Pindicator threatening me/extorting me, slightly confused what his point was. His first was mutual war with Nauflgrower for Gose, of all cities...I think he's saying he can shred my conquests, so go fight Noggle? Then he asked for 400g for him paying back 30gpt, which seems...petty? Like look dude, I can't win even with Noggle's land vs. your economy, why would you think I would pay you for your mercenary services?
And the economy is hopeless, really, sans like a MoM golden age or three. Even the Forbidden Palace... ![]() ...cut that distance maint by half into a mere 58gpt, but it's still not nearly enough. I'd be an era behind until Fusion Power in SMAC. So here's Pin's big stuff. ![]() Located in three main hubs: ![]() ![]() (ouch) ![]() ...and here's what I got: ![]() I'm going to be flapping completely in the wind and probably lose 5-6 cities in the first three turns of war, all in the hope that I can eventually profit somewhat in time to face Nougherfragger with Magic Science in the ending duel. Grim prospect.

If this thing ends here it's going to be the biggest cliffhanger ending this site's ever seen.
Pindicator's score accurately reflects his position, he definitely will take a deserved win if we trail off from limbo into nothingness.
