Hey, I updated/rehosted my PB8 images.  Always fun to revisit that game

I am glad to see this. . The reports of that game and others like it were what eventually convinced me to join the forum and play myself, and it is a shame how many of them were gutted of images over the years.

If you or Scooter restore any other old reports, you should consider making a thread in Civ General about the project. It was nice to reread the Great Invasion a little while ago, but I only knew I could because of a stray post in some thread I don’t even remember.

I don't really think I tricked him - I mean, it's Krill. But maybe there's a chance it helped.

Make the game competitive for Thoth & Commodore?

I half expect to lose my stack and be conquered, so anything better than that would be a win.

But that's the fun part about this map: we always were.

Attack Thoth? Krill hits us from behind.

Attack nobody? Krill kills us in 100 turns with a better economy.

Attack Naufrager? Watch the game implode from rage-quitting.

Krill threw the catapults in and the damage was not as bad as I thought.




Or as much as he had hoped, for he did not attack with his horse archers. They are camped inside of the city now.

So now it's my turn to whip a round of trebs and heal

Now this is more in line with my expectations:




I'd ask why he didn't attack out last turn but since I didn't really do anything but heal up there was no real reason to rush. In any case, swapped everything back to samurai and continued whipping. Pillaged and deleted the last Samurai on the hill there. Come on Krill, come finish me off.

I went back and looked at the logs and I think I only won 2 battles - Krill won a couple 40% fights early on and the rest was mop-up. Why didn't he attack the turn earlier? In any case, what is more surprising to me is that i haven't seen a peep from him - not a diplo message nor a counter-attack. What I have seen are a few messages from Commodore:




That looks like he wants to join in! I wonder if he realizes I have very little left after my first failed attack?




I wonder how he would communicate timing?
