[Spoilers]Pindicator With All the First Strikes in PB71

Not really. I didn't intend to play this game all that seriously, and when I saw the land difference between what I got (dry plains) and what both my neighbors got (flood plain valleys) the mentality became "fuck it".

I might have taken the first Thoth peace if I had been playing, but I don't begrudge scooter for wanting to look around. And if I had taken the Thoth peace then it would have been to throw that army at Commodore.

As for that lush land, it wasn't going to save me earlier and it's not going to save me now. It's too far and my expenses are too high. I'm building Wealth in my highest 2 mfg cities just to stay afloat. One reason I built armies instead of settlers was I needed several hundred gold to get to Currency and the only way to get that was razing cities. If my capital had started closer to those green lands and I had been able to settle them early it would have been a different story

I was under the strong impression from your instructions and our chat that you wanted to raze Murder Squad for the capture gold and/or at least get a GG out of the process, plus I was pretty much following your live instructions unit by unit. Sorry if that was not your actual intentions and I misunderstood somehow. If I missed a "take peace if offered" comment somewhere I'm really sorry. Unless you're saying if you were just casually logging in you might have accepted his first offer on a whim, which I definitely get.

You didn't miss anything. It was just a feeling in my gut that I was pushing through, and seeing his peace treaty offer I would have been highly tempted. Honestly cannot say for certain whehter I would have taken it or not if I had been playing. In any case, I want to stress you hold zero blame and did everything I instructed. If anything this was just a case of bad timing.

Yeah totally get that. It's viscerally different to see the peace deal in front of you while logged in when the voice in your head is giving you some doubts. Definitely unfortunate timing that this turn in particular was the one that had to be dealt with remotely.

Our 10th city is named after Mikhail Botvinnik.

We are at -5gpt at 0% again. Seems to be our place this game. A couple of Wealth builds are keeping us afloat, but that means less power and Krill & Thoth both dominate us there.

I've decided the best way forward is to get to Monarchy and HR. Then promptly selected the wrong tech and researched Meditation. Sigh. Poly > Mono > Monarchy is the order next, then revert into HR. Other options were just going for military (HBR & Construction) to hold on longer, or to go for Code of Laws and shrine the religion.

Fairly certain this is defensive and he's looking to claim the sugar...

All the same, there will be half a dozen units in Euwe.

Also, changing my strategy. Going to push Wealth builds everywhere and try to land CoL then shrine that religion.

As we all know, the best way to find religion is to build wealth.

Gold will be hooked up next turn and those unhappy faces go away.

Made it to Code of Laws by the skin of our teeth:

Krill's really going to appreciate our efforts on day.

Is it worth improving any of the plain tiles at this stage?

I would need Serfdom (Monarchy) and enough happy to work the tiles.

I just got the happiness to potentially grow onto some of them, so yeah - you could see me start to work them. I'm going to do the dubious move of shrining my religion and trying to fund things that way. Once I get to Monarchy then I'll probably go for Serfdom & HR & Org Rel.

But I really think I want to get military techs next: Iron Working, HBR, & Construction.
