I was never able to get that video to work, and now it's gone. Did you reupload it anywhere?

Guess I was being paranoid about Cataphracts by turn 145. Still don't have a good feel for timings. Maybe turn 165.

I have a reload request. I moved 5 catapults into the town here to make sure it couldn't be taken by the 12 cataphracts if they manage to attack it next turn with some road-building

Then I moved 4 back out because I thought they wouldn't be needed and didn't want them maybe taking collateral unecessarily

Then I realised I'd left pikemen in my vodka calculator which I'll only be getting next turn, so not relevant for a possible attack this turn.... so I wish I'd left all 5 catapults in the town instead of moving 4 back out.

At present the combat is 50:50 odds and would decide the entire war, is this a legitimate reload request? I would really like to replay to leave all 5 catas in the town.

Ofc I don't need the reload if he doesn't have workers in place for road-building

Comments:
1) Mechanics: Catapults don't suffer collateral damage (except from Cho-Ko-Nus, I think; there may be other exceptions, but nothing before the industrial era, certainly).
2) More mechanics: If you mean flanking damage, it doesn't apply to units in cities.
3) On your request: In general, I would be against reloading to "fix" a miscalculation, tool-assisted or otherwise. This might be a borderline case where others would disagree; I'm not trying to make a ruling, just stating my opinion.
4) On your most-recent post: I don't know where his workers are, but if it were up to me, this might lead me to deny the reload request out of hand: You in effect asked the lurkers to let you make different moves depending on spoiler information about an opponent. I realize that wasn't your intent (I assume you just were looking for ways to move the game along quickly without a reload, which totally makes sense) but that is what the post amounted to, though by accident. This is mostly just a request to be very careful to avoid receiving or drawing out spoiler information, please.

I wouldn't support this request. Miscalculating isn't an error necessitating outside intervention to restore.

I should've claimed it was a misclick! But ok fair enough.

At first I thought this was total bullshit, but as I typed out a butthurt counter-argument I realised that it's true that if I knew he didn't have 4 workers there, then the best move would be to keep the catapults out of sight, on the general principle of not displaying info to the enemy. And that could be actually important if he tried to move the cataphracts past this town to the next one along, only to find that I have catapults and can maybe scrape together a stack attack with pikemen catas, instead of getting 'forked' in the chess sense.

Or even worse, I might've decided from that worker knowledge (if granted the reload) to do something radically different like abandon the town. Not in this case, but I see how bad such fishing could turn out, now that you mention it.
