Hm that's interesting I hadn't thought of it. I think the rep happiness + research boost will till be too strong to give up but I could see flipping into it during an early GA to raise up a quick army with the help of a GM trade mission maybe? Idk the efficiency of slavery whips is just so powerful that it make me less inclined to give up rep + divert gold away from research.

How goes the expansion and exploration?
Still waiting for those strategic implications of being alone
Man scooter is so far head already. In retrospect I don't love my opening, I over prioritized vertical growth relative to expanding out to more cities. I think this was partly justified bc my immediate expansion lands beyond my first 5 cities weren't great, but the snowball rules all in civ 4 and with GLH, circumnavigation and more cities than me Scooter is obviously ahead on that. I really need to get the Kremlin online ASAP if I want to compete with him.
Sorry Tarkeel I've been totally swamped at work and also working on grad school apps, but I promise I will give you some good content soon. Btw, great work on the map it's gonna be a lot of fun to play out (and lose all my cities to 7 move galleons )
It's turn 69, how is the game going?
Well we're finally expanding in line with Jaoa's traits with 10 cities in a nice, compact empire (yes I'm getting lazy on my naming scheme, I'll rectify that when I have more than 15 free minutes to play my turns). My core of Hampstead-Coyoacan-Gori-Shaoshan-Simbirsk are all very nicely developed with my first couple villages coming online in the southern floodplains. Once math research is in I'm planning to go for Hanging Gardens in Shaoshan which will be a big boost with my planned 11 cities at that time. How's the geopolitical situation? Well I think this game has pretty much narrowed down to a 2-horse race between me and Scooter. We're both about even in city count while Cairo and Luddite both have ~4 and Yuri has 3 after losing 2 to scooter. Have these crude continentals considered just sipping pina coloadas on the beach like me? Scooter advantages: 1. Great Lighthouse 2. Circumnavigations + Viking UB 3. Larger landmass to expand into if he can finish off Yuri 4. Has marble access meaning he probably gets MoM Oxy advantages: 1. Pyramids 2. On an island by myself, don't have to worry about building military 3. Considered in 2nd place so people are still willing to trade with me, less worry about dogpiles 4. Kremlin + State Property will outpace bureaucracy over time Overall I slightly favor my position as long as I can 1) get Kremlin online ASAP and 2) always be at par/ahead on scooter for naval tech 16 turns to GE, I'm risking things by also going for Colossus here (introducing GM points into the pool) but I think I have to take some risks at this point to catch up to where Scooter is. Also note that juicy Indian international, intercontinental trade route. Currency research after math will be very very nice for me Here's where demos are: Any questions people have?
