Xist played earlier than expected, so we have another turn in:
Swapping to a bunch of wealth builds lets us finish Economics in 2. I believe Aetryn just discovered gunpowder last turn, and his GA is ended. So he will have to burn Lib very soon on economics if he wants the merchant.
Oxford is due in 10 in the capital. Sadly, don't have any way to speed it up further.
Two new cities in the far north. The terrain is poor, but Pride and Prejudice has enough food for a couple wind/lumbermills, and can finally give us enough furs to trade off for other luxuries. The double deer and double lighthouse lakes will let Epic of Gilgamesh run a lot of specialists, if nothing else. Assuming that the larger body of water is saltwater. I didn't check.
Here is the ex Roman city that revolted. CRE culture is no joke, I'm being suffocated from across the water! Hoping that I can make something of this city when it reclaims the first ring sheep, although the fish may be a lost cause. But the other ex Roman cities are starting to contribute nicely now that their borders are expanded.
These are the kind of demos you love to see when one of your rivals is in a GA. Yeah, the GNP is inflated by wealth builds, but it is pretty effective to build wealth for a lot of my cities. The cheap markets do add up!

No lighthouse here; Unless that's an ocean tile in the middle.

Yeah the edges of flat maps are kind of odd, does it show those 4 tiles of water as being coast or freshwater lake?

Damn highlands and its lack of a polar ocean! Not a big deal though, it's not like the city would be much better if you shifted it around by a couple of tiles.

It shows as a lake. I should have expected that, but for some reason I figured water that cuts off on an edge would default to saltwater.

Who would risk fishing in a bay on the edge of the world?

It wouldn't matter if it was manually placed as an ocean. 10 tiles required to make it coast, not lake.

You're right. For some reason I still think that if there's an ocean in there it's salty, but we even had a 3x3 lake in PB66.

Some big news this turn. First, Xist razed a city on the border with Aetryn. I think it was a pretty large one, as I saw a big blob of his culture vanish on the border. Xist also moved a galley to sniff around Ardea, but it is covered by plenty of units and a castle. I really have been loving PRO this game.
Next, Bing great engineered Taj. I'm certain it is an Engineer because he didn't have nationalism the turn before. If he did that entirely through some kind of overflow chain without slavery: very impressive. But more likely, engineer. It will only be an 8t GA for him instead of 12, but it will continue adding to his civ enjoying the good times.
Domestically, we finished Forbidden Palace, gaining about 50gpt in raw savings. Built by hand in a size seven city whose only food resources are a tundra deer and one lake. Ain't that something?
Economics due next turn. The merchant will be down to a coinflip, unless someone bulbs the tech this turn. Should we push for Biology right away if we get the merchant? The food alone without considering the corp would be a big boon for the economy.
Finally, a look at the finance screen. Putting this here just to highlight how, despite having the second largest army in the game, unit expenses are a mere fraction of the total. AGG would only cut those by 25%! ORG is serious business. But so is PRO for helping bring up the revenue.

Impressive enough with slavery.

Can you post F6? I don't have a feel for the tech pace in this game. Going that deep feels like a mistake, those techs are pretty expensive, but it will also be a large boost even if we "only" have 7 cereals. I guess if the GE materializes then MinInc is more important.
Also, stables at this stage aren't terribly good investments.

Our current spot in the tech tree. We've skipped a fair amount of the unnecessary stuff in the medieval era: meditation / philosophy, the aesthetics line.
Rival tech screen.
I swapped any stable builds for muskets or more wealth.
