PB71: Lurkers dwell in blissful ignorance

Can someone help me understand why Thoth would look at the state of the world and think "I should do a naval invasion of the guy with Knights and Samurai and strong tactical skills" rather than "I should walk over the backwards neighbor who borders another backwards player and former Superdeathland."

Pin attacked him once and he wants revenge is the only reason I've been abel to figure. Yuris land doesn't even have an army in it atm. Heck even after losing his stack if he takes peace he can probably still go and take it with his leftovers.

It was specifically stated, no lots of forest plus cow starts, and this is a lots of forest plus cow start.

How did this map get to this point that it was actually hosted? That is why I have no faith in this map, even if the map script is viable with care.

EDIT: And to be clear, I want to play a game of Civ 4, so I do not want to be subbed out. I checked every start in PB64 and PB69 and none of them are as close to as poor as this start is. I acknowledge that this is not an issue per se (all the starts might be this bad!) but when the instructions precluded this, and there are parts of PB69 which push playability significantly to the limit already, I just will not waste the time I have on this map.

(On krill's thoughts about his start)

Man, i had to re-read all of krills start rants.. Had me lol'n.

Also, is that not everyone relevant saying they will concede? Put this game out of its misery for petes sake.

No, it certainly is not. Are you kidding me? As far as I can tell, every single player is having fun with this game, and even reporting and/or saying so explicitly - with the possible exception of Bing, who will likely be out of it anyway in a small number of turns. This game is in the diametric opposite of misery, and trying to end it would be an attempt to take away the players' fun for no earthly reason.

Thoth has offered to concede - good to keep track. I believe Yuris has but Commodore and Pindicator have not.

I had to dig up what I posted at the time:

Yeah, I can still stand by that statement.
Playing: PB74

Pindicator as well now. I guess just Commodore then, though we'll have to test with Bing if Comm does wish to.

Commodore mentioned a "Secret Project" a week or two ago, so I would assume at minimum he wants to let that play out. But it does feel like this will be called fairly soon on account of Thoth being unwilling to make nice with Pindicator.
