[No players] Big epic lurking - PB74

I'm confused by Mig. He saw this attack coming back on T40 and then didn't even put a safety turn into war chariot in his 2nd city??? PBSPY shows no whips since he spotted so he is just losing his 2nd city here for no reason right? I don't want to ask, as it might cause him to whip or change something.

Now even if he hadn't put an emergency whip in I want to note by whipping capital this turn he could have saved by moving both workers E of the rice to road the rice next turn. Then the WC could have reached the forest he is likely going to step on. As is I'm confused.

Barb having archers is 100% a mistake. I think last time we had Ramk delete them, but they should probably be replaced with warriors right?

They're on t42?

If so, barb Archers are not unusual. Though I'm not sure how many players have teched archery so far.

I would suspect 0 people have (although maybe Dreylin IS teching atm).

But in any case can confirm version sent Barbs still had it. I know Ramk has a scirpt to check starting techs, but I suspect barbs are excluded from it.

I should note for on the cow I am assuming he has done his leg work. It does look weird, but if he can get a worker out faster because of it I'm all for it. He is playing a fast fast combo, so he had better go fast.

I still don't know if this was correct, but it does seem like he did his leg work.

I am actually not worried, since there is enough overflow to produce 1-turn Terraces in each city.  It's actually kind of nice to finally get to this point, because I've probably tested this set of turns about 50 times.

He will heave 2 granaries on the map before anyone else has 1 (although Mig prob could have gotten 1 if he wasn't being rushed).

I think this is the right move by Plemo. Invading someone out of the fog would be devastating, and Tarkeel are (a) a scary neighbour and (b) looking strong, but especially as you know they're not running a skeleton defence it feels very risky. You're unlikely to kill them and they should be able to fight tenaciously.

Very interesting counterfactual for this game. I do wonder how Tarkeel and civac will react when they meet them.

Huh. Surprised Scooter got surprised. From we saw he constantly had scouting units looking at war between Xist and GT. Scooter also blind settled for copper NW of that city, so he does have, but for some reason doesn't look to be roaded yet (and obviously unsure if it is mined).

Something I ALMOST posted in GTs thread, but didn't because I didn't want him deleting worker in response is that it is possible Scooter purposefully put the worker there to block the city. This is actually a rarely seen defense where you can't raze a city if you've already attacked which taking the worker counts as.

That one was across the river 1W of the Corn at the start of that turn. I could have upgraded it, but I felt I needed the axe in the theatre for the next turn and not a turn after. I definitely made some mistakes with Warrior placement, not least failing to factor the value of building up fortification bonus in the city itself.

Some quick notes on Donovan: his city North of Korea looks like it would (CRE) steal the first ring of Hubabi's city. That seems crazy aggressive. I also really dislike his limited scouting.

@ Dreylin. Ya I would have let him run past towards capital and put the warriors in the northern forests in a city, which also would have let you upgrade in the city. The main thing was copper and if a couple early chariots went towards capital those warriors are best odds to defend and most pop to get a spear anyways.

@Q the dotmap picture was pre seeing Hubabi so that might change.
