[Spoilers] luddite tries to remember how this game works

Ah, I just noticed what happened. He saved his strongest musketeer, the only one with promotions, for last. That was the one that killed my GG artillery. very clever.

It's been a very interesting war to follow, as it's been much more mobility-based than civ4 warfare usuall is.

Do you know the Aubrey-Maturin books that the "Master and Commander" movie was based on? They're always talking about the "weather gage," where whichever ship has the favorable wind conditions can choose whether or not to fight. That's what this felt like to me. Whenever I wanted to fight, he could just run away, and whenever he wanted to fight, I was able to reinforce and stop it. Very weird warfare.

I was hoping to eliminate MrCairo this turn, but he finished a musketeer. I could risk it but... 58% odds probably aren't good enough. This is so agonizing.

otherwise, i just keep founding cities. up to 9 now, and will be 10 next turn. growing quickly... (but it's all size 1 cities that can't produce anything useful)

Can't you go in with the axe first? Losing it should not be a big deal. Otherwise, waiting for the artillery is no big deal either.

I guess I could have done that. I just didn't feel like taking any losses. I'll get him this turn.

And... that's that. GG MrCairo, this was one hell of a war!

Also, I finally got my scout over to Scooter. He's solidly in Medieval, with galleons, longbows, and war elephants. nothing more advanced than that, though.

Oh... and I thought this name was appropriate for an artillery-themed city near Paris:

Congratulations!

It's weird seeing how unsettled that continent is at such a late stage, almost like playing a terra map.

Thanks Tarkeel!

Yes, all of that land was driving me mad. I really wanted to settle it, especially with cheap imperialistic settlers. But I didn't think I could defend it until now.

scouting continues. Scooter lost a city this turn (razed). It didn't seem to make a huge diff in power, but someone got a GG:

Can in intervene over there? Should I? Can I even make a difference with my... 4 artillery and 7 AT?

Here are the demos. pathetic, I know.

I only just now got writing...

Well, you're going to be growing while they're not while at war... so keep playing and see what happens smile
