[No players] Big epic lurking - PB74

Amica's Banana city is a hella reach - and he's got away with it because of plemo's attack ... no way that would have lasted long if Tarekeel wasn't distracted.

And in other pink dot news, I think greenline is in denial about just how much he grabbed for with that new location (and how good his Chariots are going to be once Piccadilly starts putting out a few spears). The most interesting thing though is Gavagai's Chariot/Settler pairing coming in from the SW to box him in even more...

I know Greenline is complaining about map being crammed but he is literally fighting a war for a city 9!!! tiles from his capital..... And he chose to not settle for copper and then also didn't tech IW...... Also, Greenlines inexperience is showing a little current turn. It happens. If your in a situation where your enemy is going to steam roll your forces

MOVE!!!!

but that's all i can hope for, that the axes roll badly on the attack.

NO MOVE.
The city is lost. One of the advantages of Imp is that you don't care as much. You can rebound. I've had my 2nd city razed and fought in early game wars and still been relevant thanks to imperialistic. I even gave him 1 possible option in his thread although since he didn't post screenshot don't know if this is open.

He almost needs 2 spears otherwise could offer a city raze trade

Could move his chariots to threaten and then offer peace. Or if nothing else your settlers cost less. Other options are just to go take the barb city full of warriors. Or just let it be razed, get peace, and expand behind it. Getting his army predictable destroyed for nothing is literally the worse option.

Gav should not be planning a war right now with Rome. Romes capital is too far away. Sure he can take the plains cow spot..... but its not like its worth much. He can see land to his west. He has his religion plus henge for a future shrine. Expand!!!! Gav should freeroll this whole area with the Pic Greenline war and Xist many early stumbles and yet he is choosing to not expand meaning he will be at same weak level as his rivals. SIGH.

I'm not sure I agree; yes he can see there is land to his West, but has no vision on how large or lush it is - right now all he can see is a bunch of plains and no food - nor who he might have as neighbours over there, verses an area he has good vision on that will clearly be profitable once he removes the current occupant. I'm not familiar with xist, but I'd rarely bet against gav once he sets his mind to it.

I mean lack of scouting is again rearing its head yes. Not like a workboat couldn't have been built for that purpose by this point.

And yes he can win a 4 city vs 2 city fight (I'm assuming the dry cow gets razed early in the war / doesn't matter), but its a LONG march and smashing axes vs a capital is pretty silly over such distances. So the war essentially is just a war over a dry cow....... I mean if he wants to send 2 chariots to raze dry cow he could, but he is building an axe and a spear I'm assuming to hold that land. Whatever land is to the west I think its pretty reasonable its better than a dry cow.....

Well sure, but it seems like you missed the Horcher beeline that consumes the Sailing beakers and addresses the "smashing axes vs a capital" issue....?

I did miss that, but then its just slamming horse archers into spears. Its better, but I would still rather be whipping settlers than HAs right now. Xist will cleary be weak this game, you don't want to join him by whipping units into either a painful or failed attack. Take the free territory unless its urgent. Killing Xist isn't urgent.

Is it ok to tell Greenline some common diplo messages? IE he doesn't understand Gav in clam for clam is asking for peace but probably just doesn't have fish hooked up?

I was wondering the same thing. noidea

No.

Figuring out diplo messages (and getting them hillariously wrong) is part of the game.
