[PB73 SPOILERS] scooter's Oracle

So, there was one crucial detail from that last screenshot.

Awhile back Oxy destroyed this Fort here which cut off some of my canal access. I managed to get 3 worker turns into it, though, which means I only needed 7T of Forting to complete it. And wouldn't you know, I do have 7 workers around for this exact purpose.

And yes that is an exposed Galleon. An empty one of course, but still. Easy 96% win an-

CLASSIC. Anyway, I do have enough to punch through.

I won this one at least. I had 5 Frigates in the area anyway, not to mention a bunch of Galleons, so this was always going to work.

And now we begin fleeing the beach Dunkirk style. I had 2 Galleys in the city too, so all in all I was able to evacuate 7 units from Greg back to the mainland. He can't really punish either I don't think because by my count he just landed all of his units - or at least 28/30 of them. Now, unfortunately I cannot get any of THESE units into Shiv itself. Not this turn anyway. However, I can escort units in from Connor.

Move units from Connor SW-SW-SW, then load onto boats in this fort, then move into Shiv and unload.

At the end of the turn I got something like 20ish units stuffed into Shiv. He's got 22 hitters. I would be fairly surprised if he could capture this turn, so ultimately it's going to come down to how successful his attack is. If he manages a super high win-rate, he'll just promote and clean up the following turn. If not, he could be exposed to a counter of sorts from me. I did 0 sims, so we're just gonna wing it.

I'm struggling a bit to keep pace military-wise. However, given that he just dropped 28 units in my face while also running around with 3x as many boats as I have, this really might be nearly his whole army. I really hope he slams into Shiv. He might succeed, to be clear! But I'd love a big huge fight now to decide things rather than him just withdrawing and prodding for another opening.

That said, he's basically not teching at all. His clock is still ticking. I've held off on using any gold for upgrades and instead keep banking it for a run at the next tech which could be a real break point for me. But it's crucial that I continue to keep him on a timer or else I can't possibly stem the bleeding forever. I've taken a few cuts already, but he's got a knife aimed at a main artery. Tense times.

Yeah, very neat maneuvers. And those are some clutch lakes.

Looks like it's coming right down to it! Hope you have good luck in the upcoming turn and are able to pull through.

Turn is not back to me yet, but he played his, and he packed up and left. Left a few promoted Muskets on defensive tiles to be annoying, but he seems to have done the math and concluded it's not going to work.

This is the same screenshot I ended my last report with, but there's one detail here that's noteworthy. Namely that my GNP is significantly higher than his despite me being on 0% research and him having more culture than me in general. On his diplo window he's not saving gold, but it's only going down by a little bit each turn. This indicates he's running his tech slider something resembling break-even with a small deficit. I'm saying all this to say that I think there's a real chance he's losing gold at 0% tech right now. I'm only getting 125gpt at 0% (and my break-even is around 20-30%), and my commerce is stronger than his, and I'm not paying enormous unit support for 40+ units in enemy territory.

He needs to make some more serious dents soon. He might turn around and try to capture my 3 island cities, but those cities have already been whipped/blockaded down to the bone (they're unhappy at size 1-2 due to no luxury trade access), so the cities are not useful at this stage. Meanwhile my inner jungle cities have been producing units for me and their jungles are more or less cleared. Really curious which way he pivots next.

Which way did he take his transports, up the coast toward Karolina or around the horn toward Roman?

Towards Willa, actually, though that wouldn't prevent him from pivoting north. But I think I would be able to cover that off if he did. I think he's going to drop them on the island next turn and go that route.

That's great for us if he does -- it will waste more time if he tries to conquer the island.
