Hello. Plan wouldn't be to start until after Christmas probably, but wanted to start the ball rolling. End signups November 26th.
Thinking something a little bigger than PB65, but not by a ton. Either something similar to that map or maybe a modified highlands or lakes map (add a little water to both). Thinking water matters but still a land based map. Would prefer the map to be at least somewhat balanced. IE neighbors / approximate quality.
Default Settings:
- at least 14 tile min distance between capitals (note this doesn't actual dictate map size)
- Mod Close to Home 5.0
- Monarch
- AI Diplo
- No barbs
- No spies
- No events, huts, unit gifting
- No score mod
Players:
- Mjmd
- SD
- Greenline - request team mate
- Ginger - dependent on getting civ working
- Dreylin the Fish Lord
- Nauf + Rusten
- Ricketyclik - dedlurker Mackotai
- GT
- ljubljana - dedlurkers William & Chevalier
- Gavagai
Mapmaker:
- Pindicator the Great

I've been thinking about a way to spice up the pick to avoid the usual suspects always being played. Assuming not too many players, you could do a separate snake-pick of banned combos before picking what you'd like to play.

I'm not one to stop people from playing what they want to play. That being said, there is a reason I started putting the block pick format on the voting spreadsheet and that has produced unusual combos. If that ends up being the vote pick can always decide how many slots are in the blocks.

would be interested, if I can get civ on a working device
Bans sound interesting, thin out the usual civs, Rome, Egypt, Sumeria, China etc ZzzzZzzzZzzz
I'd like more water than pb65, but it's your game Mjmd
Petition for Monarch so I don't have to play ORG. Can make the map poorer in order to slow progression
Peace is non-negotiable

Well, since my great comeback "get it out of my system" game ended somewhat prematurely, I guess I should sign up for this one...
Prefer a semi-random selection to a snake pick since I'm a rusty old noob.

I'll have a voting spreadsheet up eventually and one of the things will be pick method. Vote will be between snake and random block. I will not ban anything. I'm literally the most likely person on the forum to replay a civ / leader although if I get an easy enough start I might be persuaded to be extra spicy if we end up in snake.
Example block from PB65

Rusten and I'd throw our hat in the ring.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

something I've read about, but don't know if it has ever been done, was snakepick, but then randomize the assigned picks between players, so you (likely ![mischief mischief](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/mischief.gif) ) pick your opponent's combo
