Aaaaand.. scooter attacked me..
Guess Yishun is gone next turn.. damn.. he picked the right time to attack.. that's my chances for a good game, pretty much gone.
Guess I should have had burned down his city when I tried the worker's grab...

This may have been eclipsed by other events (did scooter take that city after all?) and you may already have settled on a name, but if you want spectacular...
And in case that ship's name is too obvious and Richard Scarry's too oblique, especially given the genre of MJMD's suggestion, I don't think you can go wrong by calling the ship " Day-O!"

BANANAS! it is
(Due to scooters attack, my motivation for the game has been shrunken a bit.. I've mounted a counter-offensive, he'll have a 50-50 chance this turn to either kill his game or mine..)

Let me say it this way: It's a very aggressively set city, and as Scooter, I could imagine him going over it.
Since you settled it so close to his capital and so far from yours... I just wonder how you thought this city placement could ever work out? For him to just accept your city would mean giving up on his own game entirely, so he has no choice but to kill it, no?

Of course I was expecting him to have a go at it (it's not THAT far from my capital, either..)
But he did hide that he got horses.. (either traded, or has another ressource) as I "stole" the ones next to Yishun. I simply expected some axes. And his power graph didn't showed anything suspicious..
Anyway, he got Yishun, but as said, about a 50-50 chance that he'll get an utterly bloody nose if he attacks now further - and I could get it all back in that case, plus more..
It's quite an "all-in" situation now.

Ah, he just played now.
I can't login till the turn has finished, but I didn't lose points, so he did (apparently) not take Bishan (new city between Yishun and Raffles)
He had an axe and two chariots there, vs. one axe and an impi from my side. If he attacked (unsure about that), he'd have lost (reasonable) the axe and one chariot, with some chances to kill either my impi or axe with his second chariot. But, I hide a second Impi - which would cleanup his second chariot.
He didn't take the city, with slaved a fresh extra axe. He'll have a second axe for next turn there, but now it will be 2 axes and 2 chariots vs. 2 axes and 2 impis. Chariots can't use their speed advantage.
And I'm having a second stack now approaching Yishun..
I wished he went all-in, and luck helping me out, rather than a stalemate. However, it seems he knows that if he loses those troops, I'll definitely be on the offensive again, so he seemingly didn't risk it. Or, even better, risked it, but lost some troops then stopped the attack..
Really want to login and check now, but need to wait till tonight..

Also, Gavagai seemingly attacked xist from what I can read from pbspy. I don't have any pity for xist, as he tried to rush me, hurting my early game. Of course a strong Gavagai nearby me isn't a good thing, but I'm fairly sure a busy xist right now is better for me, as I can concentrate on scooter. And I guess scooter will realize no one is joining the war against me..
Well, target is to somehow win over scooter, then rebuild my economy..

Scooter didn't risk the 50-50 chance, and held his position on the hill North-East of Bishan with 2 Axes and one Chariot. But he advanced with a chariot towards Raffles Place. My local Impi said thanks for the training and removed his Chariot.
He did offer peace - not sure I mistook that. I think he offered Yishun (?) - but also war with Xist. Or just peace. I might have missunderstood him. If that was indeed his offer, I should have let his chariot alone, I guess. But I clicked the first peace offer away, and then the second one he also sent was just a white peace somehow..
Anyway, he deserved to lose that chariot.
I put in "Yishun and War with Xist" as first peace offer (obviously NOT for him to accept) and "Yishun for peace" as second one.
I'm having a small army now in front of Yishun (city is empty) - AND no problem to hold Bishan now. AND I'll be able for naval landings with mighty BANANAS!
Basically, I want Yishun back. He can have fun with Xist as much as he wants. If he knows that Xist got Praetorians now.. (he has Iron since this round)
I hope Roman Praetorians can give Gavagei a lesson, and if Scooter wants into that war, let him bleed too.
I'll accept the return of Yishun in exchange for peace, while I hopefully watch them going at each other. I don't have interest in a war with Xist, at least not now that he got Praetorians. But I'll peace out from the war that Scooter started (after all, we're even then..) and let him join Gavagei, if he wants to.
So, in short, things have slighty improved since last round. If I get Yishun back, I'll switch back to peace economy. If not, my troops are ready for more war..
We're ZULU, after all!

Question for lurkers: Would it be considered (forbidden) diplomacy to send Scooter a message with roughly this text:
"Hi Scooter
I've sent you some peace offerings. Should you decide to accept, I'd be happy if you could quickly confirm so. Also, in case you've closed the offerings, and re-entered the same deal for me to accept, as I'd appreciate to login this round again, should we find ourselves at peace again."
I have NOT sent anything, and such message would be acceptable on the German Civ Forum I've been playing - but I know the rules here tend to be stricter, so I'd wanted to check beforehand.

While that is a well written message not revealing much, its generally not ok to send any such follow up. You essentially would get a benefit from outside communication by being able to log in again this turn if he accepted.
