(spoilers pb74) A pitboss filled with super-deaths.

I do love that Xist and others had 40 turns a day in one pb, but have trouble playing (getting close to timer, multiple times) 1t a day in this pb.. HMMMMMMMMMMMM

a few turns ago, but... Greenline, WHY OH WHY did you have to kill a floodplain like that?! (i also wish Charriu was here to fix the whole settling on floodplaiins kills them)

Im expanding slowly, Plemo is off to the races, and i dont want to be the one to bring him down. Id rather attempt to eat Greenline/others, and work my way to a win.

Working on a plan to potentially grab the mids. Might be a bit late? Dunno. I dont usually go for them. I expect TGLH to fall any day now though. Settling for stone on my island to the north, but checking to see if im orphaning a seafood first b4 settling directly on it. Might have to make some tough choices soon.

Update: Got mids. Civac/Tarkeel are holding their own so far vs Plemo, Picca isnt showing any outward signs of aggression. Greenline is basically food for whomever goes there first. Im just teching away. Yippie.

t100 update: Plemo landed Hanging Gardens. Thats FANTASTIC. Come on folks.

im slowly making my way to currency. I have a couple different plans coming in place that will be coming about that time. Depends on the neighborhood.

DnD update: The players have found a lone revenant that has requested aid in taking down the BBEG (the vampire Strahd) that killed his regiment of soldiers. He has offered to escort them as far as he can due to the barrier that has been erected across the land.

Sorry everyone. I havent felt like posting because Plemo continues to get Stronger and Stronger. Piccadilly hasnt responded to ANY diplo regarding him doing other things, and i focus entirely on Plemo. Greenline WOULD be an easy expansion option for me, but Piccadilly has the farthest reaching pinkest dot in all of history. I would have dealt with it long ago but Plemo is on my other end, and its Piccadilly (or isnt a slouch himself) and he is playing TOKU, which is just a pain in the ass. Im wedge between 2 of the 5 strong players on the map. The only person i havent found yet is GKC, but im betting he is farther on the west side of the map. Overall (ha ha, i know i say it often) not a fan of the long snaky continent. Im literally dead center. Everyone EVERYONE has to go thru me to win via land. (they could of course raid the coast, but still..) Im creative. I tried to expand and grab land. Plemo sent apparently every settler my way, grabbing sites that i couldnt get to due to terrain before he could considering he is IMP. Piccadilly pushing forward with that asshole of a city, im almost tilted enough to give plemo easy access to my east (because god forbid tarkeel can wait 3turns for me to join. He literally declares. I login. I see the war, i swap some builds. Play the next turn because it would be suspicious if not. Planning on whipping that turn or the turn after and declaring. BUT NO. He immediately makes peace despite the communication we had between us. So, now Plemo has 10 more turns to tech. Plemo had a decent chunk of his power guarding all the cities we share. i had an attack plan. AN ATTACK PLAN. Would have taken 2 cities the 2nd turn of the war. With a possible 3rd depending on rolls.

2nd part of my sadness for this game, is that none of the other major players have stopped plemo from getting most of the good wonders. Aside from mids, but im his neighbor.. thankfully its on the otherside of my empire so surely someone else would get it... right? But anyway. Victoria of Vikings with GLH, Hanging gardens has for neighbors: a behind Creative/Ind below average player who was boxed in by both neighbors and where my food ended up being and A good player who took out a neighbor and then apparently got blind sided and smacked around.

I think some fundamental mistakes i made early on were not building enough cottages on regular grassland tiles, i probably should have tried to take that piccadilly city earlier so it seemed more like a "hey this isnt cool" rather than a potentially more damaging to our "relationship" kind of attack. I feel if i had had Plemos combo, and he, mine.. id feel better i guess? He would still be in a great position, but id have a UU to look forward to, a UB that is damn good on any map with water. IMP is still probably top 2 best traits. Fin just gets better as the game goes on. Babylon is great for like... the Australian Always war map but feels under powered otherwise? Ind/Cre is an interesting combo which takes either a very large map, or someone far more skilled the game than i.

So, thats more or less the reason for my lack of updating.

Alrighty, Various overviews... but the main point of this update is to satisfy Mjmd. Plemo declared war last(?) turn, and threatened with a galley. I countered by saying i will take his southern most city for peace. i also sent a cease fire as i dont really want to give him free reign to go after Tarkeel. IDK if Greenline/Piccadilly had been planning this, or planned it WITH Plemo, but if they all crash into me obviously im not going to make it long term. However, i have a Great scientist popping next turn. I will hold onto the mids basically 100% atm. So, a full commitment to Police state and whipping is very possible (i was already planning on it vs Plemo...) Greenline looks very likely to dive on my city to the far west, and probably only lose 2 HA's. I dont know if Piccadilly is/was quite as prepared to go to war despite having a much higher power than Greenline. According to the power graph, and demos... im in the top 4 (was top 3) in power. I just whipped a good chunk cuz i felt i couldnt wait till next turn just incase. I will destroy whatever lands first. If they all back off, ill probably attempt to suicide against Plemo because well, he has gotten away with far too much this game, and settled up on me... and a bunch of other shit. Piccadilly is another possible target just for the city west of my Mids city. I dont care to conquer anymore than that. Can eliminate Greenline from there. In a PERFECT world of course.. but i have Plemo on the other side of me, so i basically would have to keep at min, 75% of my forces on that side to deter him and force him to maybe overbuild units instead of teching away. Fucking IMP/FIN vikings. What kind of god-given luck does that guy have?

Anyway, enough bitching. Lets get this show on the road. Creative/Industrious Babylon would not be my first choice of civ/leader combo... or 2nd... but its had its ups and downs. Sure hope i can make it to Metal casting for forges smoke

I uh, forgot to look at/type up how much Greenline is bringing.. im assuming EVERYTHING except like warrior garrisons. He's got about 7? chariots and 6HA i think. Respectable like.. 25t ago. He will 100% take my western city if he wants. But his stack dies after that.

Thanks! Wow lot of notes!

How have gardens been for you? I played Babylon in a single player game recently. They seemed ok.

the civ is overall Meh. As i mentioned earlier in the thread, the archer with extra Vs melee is nice, but really only great for always war style maps/Close quarters. The gardens are alright, will be better once i start whipping more.

im somehow 2nd in land area, despite when i look at the victory conditions im still 1st by 5%.. huh. Pretty sure ill get back 1st on the demo screen next turn when a couple cities borders pop and i gain more unclaimed land..
Oh? You noticed im 3rd in power? Am i getting ready to rock someones world? Muahahaha

Not really. Just trying to stay close enough to my neighbors so that whomever dives in first gets creamed. Did i mention earlier how i got just the best neighbor luck being next to 2 rather strong players? If i was next to greenline and piccadilly was in my shoes, i think i could have ate greenline and kept enough of a stack to keep Piccadilly cautious. As it is now, im TRYING to prep for if Plemo goes after Tarkeel (or me) likely me if he techs to zerkers, which i assume in his GA he is going to get to.. so ive been trying to get Tarkeel to get his ass in line and go in with me. He is giving me like a 13-15t timer for when he would be good to go in.. like bud, he is going to have knights by then with his tech rate. WHY.

Laughable.

Hey, i was respectable there for a second... till he shot up to the stratosphere.

Commodore coming in clutch with possibly the only chance of winning other than plemo. MAYBE Gavagai can eat Greenline, or eat some of piccadilly if Pic is dumb enough to hit me first? Dunno. I think its a straight up who eats more people faster. Commodore or Plemo.

Been whipping/chopping out forges for the production boost and the happy. Having metal casting allows me to finally stop whipping some of these cities so hard and work a couple of them as workshop slave-cities. Atl least until someone makes me swap to PS and whip like a madman. General plan is to build up and either YOLO and help everyone else have a tad bit more of a chance of winning by slamming my forces into Plemo, or take/raze that annoying piccadilly city on my border. I dont care to actually GO to war with piccadilly, id really like to just take that city and peace out. He can go rampage down south, and ill take over Greenline whom, despite my many MANY MANY MANY attempts to say "hey, build some units.. ur neighbor is like REALLY focused on units" has built basically none.. Hasnt researched anything that gives power. Its stagnant. He has 8 cities. Dunno where, mostly island?? im beyond tempted to sail a fleet and capture all his islands. So many things i WANT to do. Wish i wasnt right next to 2 out of the 3? 4? superpowers of this game.

Hope you all have enjoyed this update. SD signing out.
