(I should say: to actually play with a mod, you'll need to go from the Civ4 start up screen --> Advanced --> Load a mod--> PB74.)

Or you're starting the game directly with the proper mod. If a mod is loaded the top right corner will show its name.

For this you need to create a shortcut (right mouse click on the binary)
and then opening the property window of the shortcut (right click on shortcut)
Changing the target field
"[…]\Beyond the Sword\BTS_Wrapper.exe" mod= "RB74" or
"[…]\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe" mod="RB74"

My start does not match the screenshot provided in my thread.

Well, there went something wrong with the map… It's not just you and one other person but a longer permutation of starting positions.
I probably will restart the game with a fixed version. Maybe the map creating forgot to respect the player order?!

That was a bit I was missing!

Now I'm getting "The connection attempt to the host has timed out".

Edit: Sorry, I just saw that the game has been pulled for the time being. That would probably explain it.

You, Gavagai, and Ginger was correctly placed. The other seven players has to be moved around. I restarted the game with the new positions.
