Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

[PB74] Amicalola and Wills are Gluttons for Punishment

I initially had grand ambitions of pushing further, however it seems that Pindicator has super-vultures - they've been given shock by that random event, creating axes with flat +1 strength. Ohdear

So when Pindicator offered the city for peace, we take it. Better to have a free settler, than to resettle on the slightly preferred spot 1N. Yeah Pindicator, we're, uh, definitely the ones in a position of strength here. scared

So no resettling necessary! I had a sneaky galley threatening a coastal city of his (on the left of picture) that I think might have spooked him. The units on board were... non-existent. shhh

Also: this game is stupid because I didn't get to build the Great Lighthouse and that's literally my whole shtick. How tf do people win games without building broken wonders? rant

Wow, Pindicator must be having some big IRL issues or something - I had to ask for an extension of 10 hours while moving house, and he still hasn't played yet! alright

rolleye

(If he has actually had some IRL issues, then I guess I'll feel silly. I did, so I feel qualified to be snarky.)

Congrats on moving houses.

However, instead of being snarky you could have logged back in and given us an overdue T100 report  nono .

T106 Overview (But Not Really)
The snarkiness continues as Pindicator sends a pretty dubious fish/fish around T103 while chopping out... something? And also whipping catapults... Ohdear If the fish/fish was false, it would surprise me more than the clock games, as I picture Pindicator as a relatively honourable player in that respect (really Superdeath is the only exception on RB, and even he is generally better than people say imo). So maybe Pindi's using them to attack someone else (with his already-3rd-strongest army - I know because mine is 4th and lower), but it seems unlikely. As with the above, if he does actually attack someone else with all the units that are on my border, I guess I will eat my hat. But based on current whips/movement, I'm not massively worried. We will see.

Here is an overview screenshot of my territory. Uploading one picture on this stupid hotspot took about 15 mins, so I wouldn't expect more until my internet gets fixed. Grumble grumble.

We have catapult whips prepared in most cities, but I'm waiting another turn or two to watch Pindi's units before I pull the trigger, as our economy is bronken. If Pindicator does attack, I hope we wouldn't be an easy snack, although his Super-Vultures might disagree. frown The other exception would be if Tarkeel comes crashing in from the other side, in which case I will likely attempt my PB64-style defence again - block one opponent to frustration while the other takes land, forcing a peace, and then hit the other. It would be harder to pull off in this land shape (also I am relatively speaking far weaker), but it would be an interesting experiment.

15 min for one (high res) picture... thats about as long but hopefully not as expensive as in the mid 90s smile

Thanks!
I've got a mechanics question: You have chop markers outside the city radius. How is this possible?
I thought you assign chops by selecting that tile within the city screen. Otherwise it's something like nearest/oldest city?

You can chop forests and jungle outside of your culture. Forests chopped this way will give the closest city less than the usual amount of bonus production.

ok, so I didn't miss a hidden feature *lol*

Situation is bleak. Pindicator appears to want to leave us crippled but alive. He offered white peace. I demanded our two cities back for peace (he razed Curtis...). Otherwise, he will not get peace for the rest of the game (or if something forces us to).

It is probably misplaced annoyance, but when the starts were asked for 'random but playable' and we got... this monstrosity, it is easy to tilt into a death-struggle. We don't really have anything to lose (I firmly believe that Mackoti's odds from T0 in our start are <1% - we didn't even get to see the normal version of the game where Dreylin presumably whacks us before T100!), so I might as well get some practice in Classical warfare. Additionally, a part of trying to play casually for me is setting new 'win' conditions once I can't actually win. Alternate win condition: organise dogpile on, and outlive, Pindi.
