Snake is fine, I like choices for something this nonstandard.

Did we want to start in sequential, or do simultaneous for the first 20/30/whatever then transfer to sequence?

Someone (scooter?) mind moving us into a new subforum if we're at player cap?

Snake pick seems good

Don't particularly care about map wrap

I think straight into sequential might make sense? We could certainly start simultaneous, but with the quicker Medieval start, I'm wondering if the gains from going faster are mostly wiped out by the conversion process. I suppose though maybe it's still worth it to blaze through 25ish turns in a week? No strong feelings here - don't think it's going to be super consequential.

Another thing regarding the snake. What if we decoupled the turn order from the snake order? Instead I would suggest we roll a turn order, then let whoever is last pick their place in the snake, and so on to second-last picking their snake position. I say this because it's not immediately clear whether picking higher or lower in the turn order is most advantageous, so it's an easy way to compensate the turn order advantage by letting those players decide after they've put a little thought into their pick preferences.

I'm inclined towards sequential right from the start. We could do a blitz one weekend like we used to do for PBEMs and get a bunch of turns done early. But with this roster I think we should be good for 1-2 turns a day consistently so long as we have the turn order set up correctly.

I like the idea but I think we're better off determining turn order by playing windows and then rolling to see who goes first rather than a random turn order.

I think I'm probably being unclear. Yes, determine playing windows, and then roll a dice to determine who goes first, and that spits out a turn order of A-B-C-D-E. This part would be unchanged.

Often this would result in a snake pick of EDCBAABCDE.

Instead I'm suggesting we let E decide where in the snake they'd like to be - 1/10, 2/9, etc. Then D, then C, then B, then A.

Might be best to just start in sequential for this one.

Hey, I only have most of the first start done yet :P

On a more serious note, sounds like Comm is strongly opposed to toroidal, and everyone else is indifferent.

I have a pretty strong idea for a map; it won't be a barren wasteland like PB71 but I'm not going for superlush either.
Playing: PB74
Played: PB58 - PB59 - PB62 - PB66 - PB67
Dedlurked: PB56 (Amicalola) - PB72 (Greenline)
Maps: PB60 - PB61 - PB63 - PB68 - PB70 - PB73 - PB76

There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
