To note that was with SD ON the hill showing how stupid that attack vector was to begin with.
[No players] Big epic lurking - PB74

I agree, the whole thing was stupid, but the hill had no influence, I think.
In Plemos Log I found 4(!) units, which get the 25% deffbonus.
MJ, please don't tell people currently playing how the map was edited.
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.
And Plemos reaction to tarkeels invasion:
Great, another great general. - 4 katapults and 1 zerker for 15 units.
For those only reading here, Plemo had a bunch of units loaded onto galleys in range to unload in the city and attack Tarkeels stack.

Aha, thanks for confirming; I went back to Gav's thread and confirmed Plemo didn't have Engineering so units on galleys was the only explanation I could come up with.
Wow, that is a brutally efficient way to get 4-move catapult (5-move, as Vikings) hits in, in a coastal city defense. I remember seeing scooter doing similar things in PB73 off of galleons, also to great effect, but I wouldn't have expected to get fog-boated by galleys.
Agreed with Commodore that going after Pin here isn't the best idea. He can pretty easily swing knights north and just wait for Tarkeel to collapse and then mop up territory for little effort. It does put him on border with Plemo, but letting Plemo get all of Tarkeel ends up with that anyways, so might as well pick up 6-7 cities. And he has been moaning about how artificial the map is (even though his area is largely natural) and now he seems sad with the completely natural astro islands hehe. Still worth picking up though as long as he is first to astronomy. Main problem is just defending them down the line. The one he discovered is pretty much exactly in the middle and there is another bigger island on other side that is obviously even farther away.
Quote:Tarkeel Yes you will. Literally any turn after this. They are about to get crossbows out. They can continue whipping in general. If Plemo advances via land on either next city he has to step on flatland. Or they could stay and get their stack killed............. See Amica dancing his stack backwards. Sure he is losing cities, but it is costing Pin a lot of time. Once your stack is gone, that is it (unless Commodore comes riding to the rescue, which is an option I didn't cover before). |
