PB63 city Renzo - one of the few cities that despite being competitive I never got back. Had to give it away for peace due to a stupid double team after a stupid backstab. But gotta do what ya gotta do to survive.

I'm fairly sick and fell asleep with my kids last night. No Gav stack, but neither has he played. I'm left in awkward spot where I want to prepare for GA, but also prepare for Gav.

For instance JohnPaulJones whipped a spear in queue after Gav didn't roll that one turn, but I've decided to put overflow into forge; risky. But literally every other queue is a spear. Also, I can switch into police state next turn if needed. I would prefer to delay GA 1 turn and do rep instead obviously. I have some severe happiness problems I would like to fix.



Gav did give open borders. So I know of 2 war chariots and 3 axes over by SD. And I have been working to make myself look pricklier.



Sure I'm still bottom power, but its all spears and they are all on or going to Gav border. I'm assuming every axe he has will be guarding border with SD / they would mostly be too slow for a conquest war anyways. Now SD did send me a message to try to get me to go to war with Gav, but I have 0 interest in attacking Gav with him. Most of Gavs good land is towards SD.

Remember folks America UB is TOTALLY fair. IE it looks like Nauf used his engineer on MoM instead of the mids I probably stole through lots of work. Honestly MoM for him is better. At least it looks like he went Calendar before currency. That shows super paranoia. Love it.

Still no Gav units. I did whip walls in Red Alert just so I could stop being scared. Its going to make it less explosive growth wise, but now I won't be quite as anxious logging in every time and that is worth something.

Got Prophet and will launch GA next turn. I could delay it another say 4 turns for Moai and it would allow time for couple of libraries to get further along / cities to grow. Just having some modifiers for GA would be nice / more pop. I'll give it a think. I do wish I had found the worker turns to chop the last forest for Moai, but worker turns are kind of tight. I'm getting by on 7 workers and I doubt I'll be building more at this point.

Question for lurkers. I'm assuming Great Wall fail gold will show up next turn? I seem to remember this is the case, but just checking. Coming into this turn I was pretty sure I was delaying GA 3 more turns, but if I have gold to tech the whole GA I might fire it off this turn after all. Would fix two of my cities unhappiness and then I have 2 more next turn.



Also barely visible is a scouting Gav war chariot. My only surprise is that it wasn't sent sooner.

Thanks so ya came in expecting to delay. Great Wall fail gold made me want to fire. Then a chance to earn 100g came along.



Let me be clear, if you are leading this is the kind of interest rate to offer. I'm not sure I would have taken for less, but I did take this. Therefore firing GA in 3 turns. It hurts 4 of my cities a bit, but will help the other 5.5.

I still have the option of firing off if Gav invades. Although seeing 6 spears and walls protecting an all plains size 1 city should temper him a bit. And bordering #1 power SD.

Why did SD want gold at such an interest rate? Well this is A reason.



Curious if it was 1 or two turns of tech. He would have only been plus 100g after two turns, so maybe 2 turns. That does offset it to some kind of much cheaper actual interest for him depending how many courthouses he can get 2 turns earlier. Obviously a big plus is the religion, although he maybe could have gotten that by waiting anyways. I'm still ok with earning 100g.

BTW in all my scouting for Gav lands I haven't seen his army and the two cities near me I have vision of did both do whips couple turns ago. I'm sure its all fine though.

I feel like I want to admit something that has gone wrong in my long term plans. The natural spread of Judiasm in my capital really sucks. It will be great to help spread it, but I was planning on leaving it religionless that way I could get Christian holy city in it (I think this would have worked if it was only city without) and then run Bureaucracy. I may still, but won't be as good without shrine. This is also why I really wanted Hinduism because I was half tempted to move my capital to Mandalay 70. I could try to do same thing and leave it religion less, but man does that city need happy and I'm not sure I really want to go through with spreading a whole other religion. You know after I get injured by Gav in a pointless war soon.

My understanding is that Bureaucracy only multiplies the base commerce, and not the modified streams: It would not apply to gold from shrine or Minaret, or beakers from Sankore. IIRC this was changed at some point for the explicit reason of not multiplying shrines.
