That's indeed pretty nice event. So towards who are you sending those fast boats?

Does make galley/caravel maneuver a little more viable in a potential Spainish Astronomy world.

Yeah, I expected you would say that.

Interesting shake-ups. Scooter had an offer:
...which I accepted. Because diplomacy just shifted with a much clearer front-runner: I'm going to see if I can leverage my third place into good things while Pin gears up to Lib Astronomy. Keen-eyed lurkers will confirm that yes, the barbs did indeed retain the granary and lighthouse. Sweet. Scooter beat me to the forge quest, by the way, but I'm still going hard on the forges because, well, forges. Built a tenth city, and seeing BARB LONGBOWS.

Never ceases to be interesting. Scooter is taking a few punches, while ensuring he's getting some insane 25GSci points every turn. Good luck mate.
With the landing of Banking, I revolted into Mercantilism as mostly-worth it thanks to my critical mass of forges. Going to get this out... ...because I want a trade mission, more than any other outcome. I can run the mission here via caravel chaining the turn after landing: That'll be good for EITHER Astronomy or two lesser techs (Engineering and Philosophy on the way to cuirs?)

I'm going to "bulb" Astronomy, Mongolian knights and high-promo muskets will be plenty. Next turn, around the world.
Thoth's empire is a little deceptive. Thanks to his Viking focus, he's been settling around the inner sea, not the outer at all, so he has a vast backline in addition to his well-built current settlements. I meanwhile have three more cities tops. Need about 40+ knights when galleons land.

This shows a peaceful mission of trade and love, but it's also showing how COMPLETELY INDEFENSIBLE THE MAP IS once oceanic armies get transported. Least surprising attack ever incoming.
This is going to be unpleasant for a little while, Pindicator is try to make hay while the brief sun shines. Galleons incoming; I was able to transfer four knights to Shetland with this stack of three galleys, so should hold there, but next turn is obviously another big question mark. Thoth had a massive battle and took out the last major source of Yurian resistance, but I don't know if he'll be able to help vs Pin in time. Very possible this is the end of the game.

Going too fast to be consistent with reporting, but:
Pictured, me thwarting Pindicator so far, and also burning his gold. He's trying to peace out, which is well and good, but I need to keep in this to see if Thoth will actually jump aboard. By golly I love this city.
