Is it crazy to lib chemistry here? Lots of relevant military tech bottom of tree and that is what this game is about.

Libbing Chemistry seems ridiculous to me. Like just tech Chem and go for Steel/MilSci
Or, seriously, bulb scimeth and Lib Physics. Airships would assure sea dominance permanently
Now I don’t actually know what Pin’s capacity for tech or bulbs is but it does seem like no one else has a shot at Lib

It’s interesting to swap the positions of Pin and Comm and look at how differently the game would’ve played out.
As a general rule, conquest is only possible if your opponents make mistakes. It’s not something you can bank on
Commodore with his usual fast-military bravado (techs after construction don’t exist) has kind of put himself into a corner since neither neighbor could be eaten.

If the player opposite Thoth in the 2v2 had the option to tech away they all might be able to strike. But if Comm helps overthrow Thoth he receives no winnings

Something we take for granted is we know he is free and clear for lib so he COULD wait. He doesn't know that. So yes for us taking chemistry is silly, but I might here. BTW airships aren't all they are cracked up to be vs ships. I tried this in PB52 and I would have been better off with just more ships. Vision worth it, but past that its not.

This game could get a lot more interesting depending how much Commodore gets from Scooter. Sounds like most if things stay as they seem. Scooter definitely isn't strong enough to defend both fronts so keeping stack on the border it is currently and against the person who razed your capital /shrug.

I was pretty sceptical of the 'tech past knights doesn't exist' idea, and it seems that idea is playing out poorly. I'm not sure if Comm just got unlucky though.

I think this game could be decided pretty soon, in which case Comm was right in his prediction

Maybe I'm not familiar with AI diplo, but I find it funny how so much of it boils down to 'attack someone other than me.'

Looks like Thoth rejected scooter's peace offers, which means Commodore gets to eat scooter's land? Exciting times ahead.
