This should work well if it's one of the more island-y variants of this script. In my experience this script is a bit wonky and spits out a very wide spectrum of land types - sometimes it's just straight up Continents with a couple stray islands.

Right, you have to set it to islands, and islands-woven in, etc, but the overall makes some very workable stuff: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11D90fOg...sp=sharing

Yeah something like this as a base looks really nice to me.

I messes up the religions for one thing. I'd rather do like the latest EitB games and start with all the first line techs, and possible allow players to pick one tech the could research from their starting techs, but that might mess up religions.

It doesn't seem like there's a ton of support for Classical start, so this is probably not super important.

However, one compromise idea for a game at some point would be all/most worker techs start completed, and each player also starts with 1 worker. Otherwise totally normal game. Starts faster, allows for a wider variety of civ choices (not tech dependent), and otherwise doesn't alter the game like advanced era starts do. I don't see a ton of downside, but that might be because I find the early game to be really boring.

Is there anything preventing us from moving forward here? It appears that in addition to the settings specified in the OP, we're also banning China/Dutch/Portugal, and we're definitely look at Sequential + Ancient start.

My general window is evenings US Eastern time. This works out to roughly 2300-0300 GMT. Can everyone else post their windows, and we can work out a play order from there? We good with snake picking this? Think it makes sense with the large number of bans.

Yeah I was hoping we might get one or two more signups but that's not coming so I guess we launch with 5. Snake pick is fine.
I'm pretty flexible in my windows, Only time I cannot play is 12am to 10am PST.
Peace is non-negotiable
