Commodore teched Astro and peaced out with Pindicator so I'm not feeling any need to DOW on t106.
Sent Fish-Fish to Commodore, followed by "War with Scooter-a bunch of resources hopefully indicating that Commodore can take Scooter's eastern empire"

Commodore echoed back Fish-Fish. No idea if he's going to take me up on the offer of easy land from Scooter but given that the last time I arranged for him to have easy pickings on that front he whipped out a bunch of workers and settlers and chopped a wonder instead of a horde of Keshiks to grab some easy land from a badly hurt opponent, I'm not confident that he's going to do anything other than continue his game long pissing match with Pindicator. Who whipped 4 cities last turn.
I sent Pindicator Sheep and Cow plus Fish for Fish. Intending to signal that I'm leaving the Cow and Sheep by Yuris' last city as a gesture of goodwill (both tiles will be in Pindicator's culture once Yuris' culture is gone.
He may interpret it as "Gimme Fish-Fish or I pillage your tiles" but such is AI diplomacy. Hopefully he'll figure it out when I leave the tiles unpillaged. I've got a Knight on one and a Horcher on the other to prevent Yuris from working them and hopefully forestalling one last whip.
I bombarded down the walls prior to taking Yuris last city next turn. Sorry bud, gonna have to make you play one more turn.
On the Scooter front: he finished Astronomy at end of his last turn and I advanced both my land forces (intending to take his front city of Noobopolis on t106) and my navy. He's got 4 caravels in reach of 3 of my caravels covering two galleys. AFAIKT his have no promos and no xp, mine have C3, C2, and C1 respectively and are on coast for another 10% defense bonus. He can cause some damage if he charges with all 4 caravels but he'll need some damn good luck in order to get a shot at my galley pair. I expect him to bulb Guilds and Gunpowder on his turn, which will make naval combat interesting for awhile.

Cost me a Trebuchet at 83% odds but I burnt Yuris' last city this turn. And had a moment's panic when I tried to take a screenshot of the capture screen with the cursor over the "burn it" button and something happened and the game processed the city capture. Thankfully it razed and so no harm no foul.
I thought I took a screenshot of the stack I moved onto the forested hill next to Scooter's flatland front city of Noobopolis but I can't find it. and engaged Scooter's navy. Won at 75%, 60something, lost a coinflip, won a coinflip, won an 80%, and won a 96% fight to sink 4 caravels and a galley at the cost of a caravel. Scooter has a fresh Galleon in Copycat that will have excellent odds to kill either a galley (protecting a redlined 9/8 xp Caravel) or a C1 caravel.
The exposed galley was carrying a Beserker and a Longbow who offloaded and killed a farming worker.

Logged in for a look around and to see what Scooter had done:
Greeted by multiple diplo messages:
From Scooter: Offer #1: Peace in exchange for him going to war with Commodore
Offer #2: Peace in exchange for me paying him 200 gold.
From Pindicator: Wants me to go to war with Commodore but isn't offering anything.
Curiouser and curiouser......
1st offer I thought about and came to the conclusion that I don't benefit from it. As to why Scooter would make that offer.......hmmmm.....perhaps there is a Commodorian fleet off his coast? or a Commodorian army at his doorstep? In which case getting a locking in 10t peace treaty with me would be a major coup for Scooter. It could also be that Scooter expects to be able to war/peace Commodore and wants to spam out a few more settlers/rebuild his army and navy while in forced peace. Any way I slice it, it's a "NO" from me on that offer.
His second offer is a joke. I'm not paying him for a peace that I'm not interested in.
Pindicator's offer isn't interesting either. I've no interest in going to war with Commodore right now as I see no benefit to me even if I wasn't already involved in a war.
On the battlefield: Scooter pullled his forces from Noobopolis leaving 3 longbows as defenders. They should be easy xp as my trebs will be getting 85+% retreat odds. He sunk my galley with his Galleon, leaving my caravels to promote and run. The galley was the most expendable unit in my whole navy: it was the 0 xp galley I built way, way back near the start of the game. The same galley that carried the forces that burnt his original capital.

Very nicely played! For 30 turns I tried to find an opening to try and recapture one of the first two cities you took off me, and you never gave me one
Good luck for the rest of the game!

It didn't quite work:
That's more like it Commodore!

Oops.
Neglected to pillage a road two turns ago and got a bunch of longbows whacked on flat ground. Left me without enough in the stack to hold off Scooter's attack and my attack stack got hammered.
Reinforcements are on the way but it's a nasty setback. Nice play on Scooter's part to make the most of my error.
On the plus side, the reduction in away costs meant I could finish up Theology a turn early. Paper due in 4t.

Not much to report on the war from my end. I'm rebuilding my forces but a bit slowly as I've invested some hammers into some courthouses and a bank in Halberd.
I'm not going to be running 100% cash for the foreseeable future to avoid alarming my opponents.
Pindicator is making 158 gpt at the moment but looking at his tile development he's running a bunch of wealth builds to do it. He's got a very impressive 200+ hammer production going on.
I make 192 gpt at max tax right now without building wealth. But I currently lack Pinidcator's hammer output, I'm pushing out ~165 IIRC (but that is currently deflated from my current max hammers as I'm working mass food to grow a bit pre-GA) so if he spends the difference on wealth then we're roughly equivalent at max tax but his peak hammer output is much higher than mine and he's got a largish tech lead already. I'm aiming to address some of this by generating 3 great scientists under pacifism during a golden age starting in 4t. Using each to bulb 1800+ beakers towards University, Printing Press, and Astronomy and finishing up the techs via conventional teching. That gives me University in 7t, Printing Press in 8t, Astro in 11-12 turns, and Gunpowder shortly thereafter.
Which means I'm not going to be in a position to fight a naval and land war with Commodore in 8t like Pindicator wants me to.
I'm also not sure how much I want to be helping the guy who is shaping to take either Physics or Communism from Liberalism. Me showing up with Philo and Uni will light a fire under his ass but Scientific Method is the next bulb target for a GS for him so if he's pre-teched Lib as a safety play and has some GSes cooking he could get to Sci Meth in time to LIb a very expensive tech. But he can also head to Economics either via GM bulb + some beakers or just teching it. If he does that I should be able to force him to complete Liberalism if he's pre-teched it or possibly (very, very low probability) even beat him there so I can Lib Astronomy, which would free up a GS of my own to bulb towards Sci Method (or reserve for a future GA or use for an Academy in Halberd).
Commodore is currently at 17 cities to my 11 and Pindicator's 10. EP graph from a couple of turns ago suggested he had not been building Courthouses so he's got a very expensive empire to maintain as well as a very large military to maintain without Agressive to reduce coasts. So I'm expecting his economy to be quite weak at this point until he does get some courthouses whipped/built and disgustingly strong if he does go into builder mode with that many cities. So Pindicator is quite right to want to push at Commodore militarily, especially with him needing to bring up some siege in order to dent Scooter's last city. Or he pays a very high cost in knights to get it done fast. I can see 9 Knights in strike range but that isn't enough to take a city defended by pikes, musketmen, longbows, and a couple of crossbows with it's defenses intact.
