Rushed out a quick 15min turn before work. Hope this means there's a turn waiting when I get home.
Threw a quick and dirty knight stack at GT's nearest city. He can stuff it with defenders or attack my stack. We'll see what happens. Either way, he's still in rough shape. Will need to think about whether we bombard the defenses here.

What's your ideal split here assuming no dilemma defections or Ginger/SD interference?

There was not so Comm, I don't have any pictures for you. Basically, GT's dotmap towards me was nonsense, while his dotmap toward Ljubljana was very sensible, so Ljubljana's conquest will all cohere, while my potential conquests will be a mess. A lot of it is going to depend on who gets GT's desert regions. I'll try to post a map when I get the turn.

These early morning turns leave me no time to report but otherwise I suspect our turn pace plummets. Oh well.
Here's the front. Captured a city at the cost of 2 knights, 2 catapults, and a chariot. Destroyed something like 4 crossbows and 3 axes.
We really don't like to see the facing of GT's pike. That means he's moving units from his capital (and his fight with Ljubljana) to fight me. It's understandable. Presumably that stack in the center is all that's left of his army. Still, hate to do the brunt of the fighting.
Could someone remind me: once you promote a unit to level 4, even if it dies, the Heroic Epic is still unlocked, correct?
Lessons on promos and movement to resume...eventually.

Thanks.

I have enough time to either play carefully or report. I'll split the difference by playing carelessly and reporting badly. Here's a general overview that I gave up on filling in:
I hate offering battle. I like surprise attacks and fielding large enough armies that enemies retreat. Offering battle always raises the possibility that the dice go poorly. I'd be surprised if GT attacks next turn and more surprised if the battle went in his favor. All the same, I don't like trusting to the dice.
If GT swings his army to me, Ljubljana makes gains. If GT doesn't move, I make gains. And then there's the whole south:
I am hopeful that I can push GT into the deep desert. (Have you all seen Dune 2 yet? You should.) I say deep desert, but these cities of GT have a higher food surplus than a quarter of my empire. (Our land sucks.) I expect to be able to grab them.
But first we have to win a war.

Alea iacta est? Or the dice are trying to kill me?

I don’t know if I’ve quoted that Sun Tzu bit before that victorious warriors win and then go to battle. Defeated warriors seek to win and then go to battle.
I think GT can’t kill my stack in the forest, but he gets one more turn of reinforcement and I have to stand on flatland to actually attack the city. I’m seeking to win the battle, which means the outcome is in doubt, which means I open myself up to disaster.
On the other hand, dice rolling is exhilarating, so…
