Remnants of the Precursors Succession Game?

In MOO, increasing the size of a trade deal carried a cost as it reduced the maturity/profitability of the agreement. I am assuming that this is still true in RotP. Humans with their racial trade boost don't care as much, but for other races it does have costs.

With the additional worlds we have added due to Controlled Toxic, we should prioritize getting better terraforming tech. With this many planets, getting more lizards and factories on all of them is a huge gain. I don't know what choices we will have in the next Planetology tier, but if there is a bigger terraforming option we should strongly consider it.

I’ve literally never seen this. Do they hate us from first contact or something??? Sounds good so far though!

There's a concept on ROTP of being in "economic range" where one empire needs to be close enough to reach one of your planets with a ship before trade can be established.

This is opposed to diplomatic contact being made with two scout ships bump into each other even though you can't reach any of their systems.

Right, but usually the game doesn't even let you propose trades at that level of contact, no?

That ultra rich world is quite the prize. eek Size 35 base is pretty large for an ultra rich planet. Hopefully we can prevent the rocks from grabbing it.

I agree with RefSteel that bribes are probably not worth it. First contact with xenophobix races produces a negative diplo effect, but it will (I think) slowly fade with time and relations will drift back towards the default for our races. Check the diplo screen for the rocks and see if that initial contact negative slowly shrinks; if it does then we should eventually be able to get a trade deal going.

Yes, but you can often offer useless tech to Silicoids, like reduced waste or eco restoration, etc... So in those cases, it can be worth it.

That shouldn't work as well in ROTP. Silicoids will value those techs, but only as a way to move up the tech ladder

I can't remember if the option is removed from the menu in that situation. I just want you guys to be aware that it's possible to be distantly contacted without being close enough to set up a trade route.

Inherited turn: Take a look around, scrap two designs we're not using at the moment as we may need to redesign ships (and anyways, we're looking to pop a few techs before warring)

Interturn hooman plague.(pic) The [strike]Meklonar[/strike] Humen ship didn't hang around, we didn't even get a combat screen

T111: decide to push factories on Avantador, from reading the discussion it's worthwhile to get to 2xfactories. Heralth Jerult and Tessith all build Col ships these are returned to research duties

T112: Sssla finishes second col ship goes to research Rodrolth founded send 5 each from Jeruth, Heralth & Sssla
[Image: i8xBsaL.png]
Remember this turn to reserve spend new colonies
Upgrate Meklonar, Kholdan trade treaties to 550BC for diplo. No harm buttering them up before [strike]cooking[/strike] burning them down.

T113: Discover Ultra rich Bevurth!!
Garuga gets col ship build duties, with the ship diverted to Oviraptoria. Give green flag very important
Found Barroth and Taenth.

Avantador goes off factories as now onto pop seeding for next few turns. Tessith and Messarth will feed Barroth

T114: Found Roluth, Dalbinth

were framed against Meklonar tell spies to hide [strike](pic)[/strike]. Whoever framed us also wiped my visual record of this event, the dastards.
lotsa micro to reset spending. Avantador goes back on factory building for a couple of turns.

T118: Accept 675BC Cryslonid trade
[Image: PqX9CCf.png]

T119: retreat from Houmin Carrier at unknown system w of Earth and Acamar
Tessith factories up - building base

T120: Council
[Image: Srul76v.png]
we're not a candidate but are the strongest candidate. Vote for Carnax - Mentarans have non-agg with Hommems & are mad can build a relationship with rocks
Inconclusive vote though more empires vote for Carnax than I thought, he got 26 votes out of c. 70
Meet Ursinathi (Ruthless, Technologist), Nazlok (Agressive, Expansionist), Altari (Pacifist, Ecologist), Fiershan (Aggressive, Militarist)
Build on Apophis
Mentarans get mad for my vote against them, Cryslonid warn us to keep voting for them.

Notes: Long range colony ship en route from Garuda to Oviraptoria
Have only adjusted spending on colonies I'm doing terraforming.
Apophis just founded, no pop or reserve used.
Haven't done any diplomacy this turn.

And Done.

PS I've tried to misspell Human differently every time I had to talk of them for KOMEDY!

Got the save! I'll have time Friday evening to get acquainted with the save and hopefully take my ten turns.

One thing I forgot to put in my report, the LR colony ship is for the ultra rich planet. I don't know if my goto order was correct or not.

Looks like some solid turns, Brian Shanahan. thumbsup New worlds, new contacts with other races, and the council meeting -- lots going on.

There are some very weak empires out there. IIRC, MOO gave one vote for 100 total pop (across all worlds). Assuming RotP is the same, that means the cats, bears, and shifters likely have only 3-4 worlds each.

Hopefully we can get that ultra rich world. Even at very modest size, those are amazing planets.

Deflectors 4 being the only option in Force Fields is unfortunate. frown Not much to be done about it, but lack of planetary shield 5 will hurt.

Good lucj, Fenn!
