Ok, hopefully final post on the issue! Seems that if I log in as "Thrawn" the game hangs. But if I log in as "thrawn" it works
5 Player Themed Pitboss: Signup Thread

I think I know this bug.
civ4 is case sensitive, Windows (in this case) not. This causes some kind of problem, if you change the case of your name after you had a login already.
I succesfully logged in to play the turn for Dreylin, after deleting the file mentioned by Scooter a few posts back.
Superdeath was not aware the game launched, and the timer is running down. There appears to be a pbspy config error preventing me from pausing/extending, so may need a player to pause in-game. (I have notified Zulan of the issue.) Sounds like he shouldn't need too much longer and will get to it tonight.
Some keyboards have a pause key. If yours doesn’t have one, then you can use an onscreen keyboard.

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Also still getting the "server will crash blah blah" using the close to home 5.0. Nothing bad has happened of course, but its annoying.
