I didn't tweak anything in the WBSave or toggle any settings when rolling the map that would have adjusted tech costs. I don't know if the mod does that automatically.

Usually we play on standard even if the map was rolled at a smaller size. This can be adjusted in WBsave text file. Map size affects tech cost and importantly maintenance.

Just a heads up for a bit more map information, since several people posted a similar question in their threads: the map was designed with islands and enough water for navies to be a significant factor, but not an overwhelming one. Additionally, each player should have even access to early and mid game luxuries, unlike in the last greens game where luxuries were unevenly distributed by type.
