[spoilers]The Courts of Chaos: Thoth disrupts the Pattern

REX like in StarCraft? I think I'd leave out the early barracks here wink

I usually prefer anything else than a map from huts but that one is quite useful.

In this case in means taking advantage of all the food to get some quick settlers and workers whipped. Once I've made the religion swap I want to get a temple built and a priest hired asap, probably in Kolvir (former Paris) as this city has enough food to both run a priest and grow into settler whips. The number of cities I'll be founding means that a shrine will be a solid investment

2 huts, 2 maps so far. Tech isn't a possibility with RtR and a Classical era start. We've already got all the Ancient Era techs. So hut results for a scout wind up being xp, map, unit, or cash.

I'm fine with the maps, the saved scouting turns are welcome and mean I might just get away with delaying my second scout......but I'm thinking I might want one out of Courts of Chaos (renamed Orleans) to get my east scouted out while my original scout heads south-west.

Hmmmm......that plan does rely on a free religion spread by t14 or a whipped missionary out of Courts of Chaos by turn 12.......hmmmmm

ah ok smile
I have no idea about rtr or advanced start, but it was interesting to watch people "buying" starting equipment.

RtR limits tech pops to the first two rows of techs.  smile

I landed Judaism in Courts of Chaos and got a missionary in Kolvir.  Hung onto the missionary for the moment until we decide what we're doing with them.    If we keep them for use, I'll hang onto the missionary until after the settler whip and religion swap.  If I can get a free spread from the holy city then I'll use the missionary in the copper city, otherwise I'll use it in the capital to get the OR bonus on the settler whip overflow hammers.

overview after hitting eot and Courts of Chaos growth:

Yuris gained 9 points last turn and demographics indicate one other person with 2 size 2 cities.  I'm guessing Yuris was the person who took 2 improved tiles and Pindicator took 1 6 food tile or is slow building a worker in his second city.

Demographics are inflated by the fact that I'm first in turn order.  Looks like someone is teching Monarchy out of the gate.

No scouting screenshot this turn as all I did was confirm the lack of additional seafood near the Horses.

Pindicator whipped away his new pop last turn, presumably for a Protective granary (RtR moves the cheap granary from Expansive to Protective).

3rd turn of the day jive

Pop growth for both Krill and Commodore last turn.

Pre-eot demos:

Ending turn popped Courts of Chaos's borders:

I want a Galley and an offshore city soon....

Kolvir was microed to work the Corn so it will grow again at end of turn 8 (next turn).

A whip from Krill last turn puts him back at 2 total pop.

Panthers and Huts, Oh my!

End of turn got me a religion spread in Kolvir so I'm good to go with temple after Settler and can use the missionary to get an insta spread in copper city.

Kolvir grows to size 5 at eot 10, size 6 eot 11.  Start settler t12, 3 pop whip it t13, revolt to Judaism on t14 while settler moves. (t14, 15, 16, settle 17).

t15 take overflow  into Temple, t16 finish warrior for garrison happiness (the archer goes with the settler), t17 resume work on temple.   Need to work out growth curve here and worker micro.   I'll want 2 more worker turns to finish cottage and I'll need 8 worker turns to move onto the forested grass hill and chop and mine it.   Chop should go into temple asap so I can get the priest set.   Stone quarry finishes t13 so I've got enough time to either build 1 cottage or two roads before moving both workers to forests on t16 to complete chops t19.

Kolvir regrows to size 6 eot 18 and is unhappy for 1t while the temple completes.   Set priest t20, grow to size 7 (unhappy) eot 21.   Start settler t22, 3 pop whip t23, settle sheep/clam/fish city ~t25-26 (road could speed this up if I can find the worker turns) .

Courts grows to size 4 eot 16, starts worker 17, whips worker 18, overflow into granary 19.  I'll arrange a chop to complete t19 (Math due by eot 18 so full 30 hammers) and 1t the granary.  Regrow to size 4 or 5 on a galley and 2 pop whip a settler (around t30?).

I'm tempted to beeline Currency and settle on the Corn and Sheep tiles on the northern island. I can fund a lot of cities with two offshore trade routes per city and a shrine due around t55 or 56.
