Reli was successful - and Rick has Iron working.
I think, I will divert the galley (again) and try to find a trade route per sea - to control iron access.
My warrior near Rick got killed by a barb spear a few turns ago.

Looking good. More Workers definitely required, not least because seeing so few Roads on turn 67 makes me uncomfortable lol . Plenty of use for "extra" Workers when you continue expanding onto the islands as well. Early food advantage over Rick is a good sign for growing stronger than him longterm. Gold/Pigs spot looks beautiful - little low on food but great yields otherwise, and it can run a couple of Farms to help. It's also a strong defensive position if it ends up being a border city.

GLH is such a strong wonder on this map with how practically every city can go on the coast. Definitely makes sense to pick up HBR as a hedge against early aggression from neighbours. I do wonder who's to the west along the mainland if it's not Coldrain.

Gold/pig will be a border city, I think.

A further city is a implied war declaration, I think.

This is concerning - for Rick.
I don't think that there is no funny business with resource trading going on.
And with no copper (or iron) I have stanrgly desire to return the galley loaded with 2 axemen. Still this is a silly idea.

The research on mediation is questionable too.




I don't work the corn - I would grow in unhappiness. Nothing really bad, but so I can finish the oracle 2 turns faster.




6. city in a few turns.
I took a small gamble and attacked a warrior with the spear - the warrior didn't attacked and would be able to threaten settler/worker and maybe even the city.

Karthago Carthage is building a few worker.
After the second, I plan to build the 5. settler.




Uitica is finishing the Oracle and after that, the worker.
Then another settler ?




Hadrumetum is building a bit of military.
I need a counterweight to the roman praetorians.




Hippo has an axe as growth project. After that ? I need more ships.
The worker was trapped on the island, so I have finished a "useless" mine.




Kerkouane has claimed the marble and whipped a granary last turn.
Again an axeman as growth project.




Leptis is the expected border city to Rick.
And I hope a barb magnet in the future. Most barbs are coming from this direction.




This island is a potential position for the next city.




Food becomes a potential problem.
I dont work a few food tiles, because my cities become unhappy otherwise, but still...

Whoa, English interface all of a sudden I mean I like the direction things are going, more Workers and Settlers with some military mixed in is what I'd do too. Being equal on city count with coldrain after building two wonders is further good news. A Colossus build might be worth considering given all the coastal cities you'll have but three early wonders is stunting the growth curve too much probably, and it would likely paint a target on your back.

TBH even if the Mine on Hippo isn't optimal it's still good to have, hammers can be precious on an island city with only one 5 food tile (that it might have to share with a neighbour) that isn't set up well for whipping. Next city on the other island sounds good, with GLH the payback is basically immediate and it can borrow Fish to get started. Crab/Clams spot in the east or the spot 3W of Kerkouane also not bad, either would make fine Moai cities, but the upfront investment is higher so they can probably wait until more Workers are online.

I found a possible python error in CtH which should be connected to special characters such as "Ä" a few days ago.
I'm not 100% sure how to replicate this, but I thought I shouldn't risk this for Zulan and changed to ENG.

Anyway, I'm still surprised how quick this game is.





A new city from coldrain like expected.

This makes the marble island city next a bit more attractive.

And coldrain is a 7 cities now.





Another contact.
And I got a bit of lasting damage from the barbs.
They have plundered a pasture.

Happiness gets better in T82.

Sounds interesting, care to share the details you do have? Not surprised, character sets are iffy, especially in 20 year old code.

Also, congratulations on scoring two of the premium early game wonders. Any more on the horizon?

Maybe Colossus ?
I should have good chance, because I think, I'm the first with MC, but the 120p for the forge and 250 for the colossus are too much at the moment.
Even if I get 75% bonus (copper + forge).

And I have no details for the error. I had the python code, but I forgot to make screenshot.
The strange thing was that this error was displayed as a Python error, not something in the XML.

And I'm not 100% sure on the timing. I reinstalled civ a few days ago, maybe this was before that ? And I can't rule out that I didn't change CtH files.
I worked a bit on the files for another mod.

But maybe I should try to find no standard characters in the CtH XML files.
