[PB78] Underdogs and undercats: The Mrrshan warlords visit the world of Civ IV

Dreylin withdrew from New Vegas and sent this:

Does 115 gold mean t115 according to the forum convention? And is there a standard meaning of horse in addition to the iron-copper which is enough to indicate war allies?

Re graphs we are still substantially behind in foodhammers but I'm working on catching up.

Yes, gold for turn# is the convention, though less commonly we'll see gold used as a countdown instead. I think all the early strategic resources are used to indicate "let's fight together", and some combination of multiple horse/copper/iron is to remove any ambiguity.

Also, strategic resources are often used to signal the unit they unlock. So horse+iron is often knights.

Yes, 115 gold means t115 in most cases. - Countdown is often something like 10 turns.
GpT normally means attack in X turns, which can be ambiguous, when you send the offer in T100 and the other gets the offer in T101.

Turn 103

First barb city captured by force and we are now third in cities! Cost of capture: one sword.

Nice. In a normal game I'd be worried about having lost out on turns of growing cottage as well as lost hammers in units but this one is probably still wide open!

Cottages are the next priority and I just completed the first one on T103 but that's how things are. The economy will soon crash pretty badly but at least I got currency and courthouses and will also get cats and forges before it happens. So I should be able to recover fairly efficiently and be well defended while working on it.

Things are not looking good for a Magic dogpile. I sent the t115 attack to Gav and SD and Gav echoed but SD sent back just a general war allies without timing, which I interpret as he won't be joining in. The problem is that the only point I can attack is near SD where Magic is bound to have plenty of defenders and if SD doesn't help, Magic will just shift them and I won't accomplish anything.

Overall it has been a perfect game for Magic with me taken out of contention and dragging Gav down too, and SD being extremely helpful: First by hyperfocusing on Dreylin and letting a very important area be settled uncontested. Second by trading with him and boosting his economy despite it being clear that Magic was in the lead at that point and SD getting all the trade he needed from me and Gav (and I kept asking him to stop trading which he kept refusing until Magic captured his barb city). Third by losing said barb city especially since there was no notable power drop on either side so it wasn't really defended even though it was facing Magic's core. And fourth by not be willing to help now and not even suggesting an alternative attack time.

Unfortunately I may have to back out of the attack and it seems that I shouldn't even send messages to Dreylin and Gav because they will be attacking near each other and if one of them also backs out the other will have the same problem as me without SD support. And even if I join in I'd be attacking Magic's other side which won't be directly helpful. However I'll try to send what units I can in their region to at least exert some pressure on the nearby cities and reduce the reinforcements Magic would be able to send against them.

Quick question hoping for a quick answer. SD offered 17gtp for 150 gold now. Is 10-15% the usual interest that people lend at, and is there a risk that he declares war to stop paying?
