I'm going to be interested to see whether this "NAP" falls apart because of different interpretations of ambiguous language. As Commodore originally - very carefully - proposed, it was worded as no Knight attacks, but the discussion seems to maybe have evolved to imply a full NAP. If Yuris assumes that latter, but Commodore sticks with his invasion plans under the former wording, that could kill the game.
Unfortunately I don't see a way for lurkers to address this without drawing attention.

The one way to continue that's mostly normal is for an administrator to log in and use the console to add pikemen when Yuris needs, right? This works?
I'd actually be willing to help with this, given the right access. I could do it regularly for a month or two if need be. With the caveat that I'm away tomorrow evening through all of next week, but besides that and other occasional weekends I could do it.

Yes, though the issue here is two-fold.
1) This is hosted by Zulan, and he has not really been interested in giving out this level of admin access post-Ramk. So we're fairly stuck here on this front. I've tested doing this locally and think I know how to do this as well, but we don't currently have the access.
2) Krill has done some serious work on an alternate host option where we could do this, and I spent a lot of time a few months ago helping. However, when setting up the host with the tools required, I ran into some roadblocks with final steps. Not insurmountable, but then I sort of ran out of bandwidth and couldn't finish it in time for this game to launch. However, there is still a world where we get this resolved which would restore our ability to console-admin games.
Movement on #1 or #2 is what's necessary here. It's probably still #2 as the most likely bet, but I would need to get myself back in the headspace to do it while also coordinating with Krill.

regarding interpretations of NAP... it seems that yuris is keen on cancelling such a deal himself asap. So, might not be an issue although it feels uncomfortable.

In the long run we really need ability to have games hosted by ourselves. So whatever helps towards that gets my vote.

If I read the changelog right, Pindicator is about to be disappointed. He keeps forgetting this is RtR not CtH.

I think it would be ok to tell him? Usually mod mistakes are allowed for lurkers to let them know right? He might not see in time, but anyone have thoughts REAL quick.

Yeah I think that was fine to ask in response to his posting about it. I think clarifying mechanics-related misunderstandings, even if it does clearly impact in-game decisions, is a generally healthy thing for a strategy gaming community.

Latest version of RtR (6.0) actually has the same base mechanics as CtH, including circumnavigation bonus. Yes, I was as surprised as you are.

THis looks really interesting, I'm sad I largely missed it. Can anyone be bothered providing a cliffnotes on the game thus far?
