Turn 150

I need whatever science I can get my hands on. Just 900 faith to 500 science. A bargain

In SP I would kill for more science. In reality this is only +6 science for maybe 20 more turns.

Krill hovers and lovingly eyes my cities.

WELP. One coal.  scared

Turn 155

I got ironclads, frigate fleets and a great admiral. So actually a decent chance to survive. As space is an issue I create fleets and corps whereever I can.

Fleet strengthened once again. 5 ironclads, 6 frigates, 2 privateers. Added up to fleet, which was probably not so smart.

I am curious if he attacks me. The question is can I attack him?

Turn 158

Time to solve the elephant in the room. I will not start the war against Krill. Not only has he +200 milpower, but my fleet is divided in 2 adding to my strategic dilemma. I have no bonus up my sleeve except for crusade which only works inside his cities borders, so my troops are stronger as long as they are sitting ducks.

Rome is not able to conquer Burmese. I can not really intervene in that war either. My isolation now works against me. And Krill has Steel. I am better served by holding my feet still. Longterm my strength through cities can increase and Krills fleet does not help him against Rome.

I accept Romes offer of a mil alliance, thereby increasing my milstrength by +5. And then I offer Krill friendship. I think 30 more turns will close the gap, as he has a modern tech and it is steel. If he has Refining too I am toast anyway if I go on the offensive.

I am not happy with the current situation.

Krills techs is his main advantage that and the fact that he has a canal between the two seas. He can unite his navy and I can not.

If he manages to conquer more stuff especially city sizes 10 I am in trouble as well.

I am a 100% confident that Krill would take less damage in a war against me then I do.

I can not conquer Japanese stuff right now nor can I reach Rome. I have to outbuild him, hope that I have oil and hope that Rome actually wins against Japan.

So I need to establish 3 more holy sites. Blow up my population. Establish a harbor in the capital and get a tech lead. I should also see if I can pull of a culture or space victory if things get bogged down in the endgame.

And REALLY hope for oil.

Turn 159

I really hope I am not overlooking anything, but Krill accepted a DoF. Which gives me the time to overtake him, hopefully.

Overview.

Is there any way (canal/city/ ) to connect both seas through the northern part of your lands (can't really see from posted pictures) ?

Turn 165

Since the DoF with Krill I am in a mad dash to catch up with science.

First of all, starting next turn we will build Oxfords University.

Also a bit of an overview.

And I am still growing. One new campus next turn and one holy site on a semi good city to bring it closer to productive.

Time is running out. Krill thanks to his science is beating up Rome.

-17 science next turn as I ran 3 projects at the same time. 1000 science is in the bag with the next Great Scientist. Then Uboats and hopefully planes!

Turn 166

So, Plan A is getting Oxford a GS and overtake Krill in science so I have the edge.

Plan B, is religion. Nuts I know, we will see if it works out. I am friends with everyone except Rome.

It should at the very least make crusade possible in more cities.

Oh my, Rome is falling like a house of cards, how?

It seems a faith based push is my only chance. Going full on in this direction.
