[Spoilers] Whosit is playing for second

The end is nigh.

I don't see any siege weapons in Krill's army (currently) so we'll see how long this takes, but he can still easily pillage me into the stone age. Lost a Field Cannon and 6 charge worker for nothing. I misjudged the range Krill could move.

I do get my Great General. Better late than never? I suspected that greenline would just take whatever Great People popped up based on past behavior and feeling like he's out of the game. Too bad he couldn't do this earlier. This also means that Krill will get a GG as well.

I guess we can trade back and forth for Era Score!

Did some damage to one of his units, but there's far too much for me to hold off with what I have. I can't pull units from the Korean front effectively, so that invasion is just going to go ahead as planned in a few turns.

This isn't much of an excuse, especially since I can't find it now, but I was certain Krill said something about not being familiar with Civ 6 at the start of the game and I failed to look into that any further. He is, in fact, a veteran (or at least has experience) on top of being a generally strong Civ player. Not really sure what I would have done differently if I had realized that tbh, and I doubt it would have changed the outcome, but remember kids, always do your research!

Because TAD has Friendship with Krill, no chance of a two-front war. When Krill starts to gobble me up, are we going to see concessions, or does Archduke have a plan to win it even now?

I've made a ton of mistakes in this game, but at least I've learned a lot. One thing I wonder... I know I leaned too much on Free Inquiry for too long, but I wonder where I'd have put Campuses. I probably should have just conquered that religious city state much earlier. It's something I'll be remembering going forward.

I dreamed I watched Krill conquer my capital. That's probably coming true soon.

Don't have the energy for full updates right now, but I will keep playing of course.

Krill has not attacked my cities yet, but I did spot a Treb Corps that is surely going to be upgraded to a Bombard or Artillery, Goddess forbid. Right now Krill is pillaging my territory with impunity. I did kill one of his regular Coursers, so that's something lol.

Tourdion flips to me next turn and I can take a crack at Korea. Can't stop Krill, but maybe I can still have some fun.

I offered peace to CMF. Giving his city back, all the luxuries he doesn't(?) have. Asking for turtles and 600 gold in return. I want the gold to buy another field cannon. Really, I want to end the war so Krill at least doesn't get the +5 military alliance bonus against me, but he also has corps and a +6! intelligence bonus on me, so whatever. I expect a rejection. Maybe I'll get a counter offer.

The worst thing about this is I can't even say I played a good game. While, granted, geography played into it, I can say that greenline's Korea is in a weaker position, but he's played a better game by virtue of not being the first to be eliminated!

Sphynx fell. I thought it would hold out another turn or two. Not sure what Krill hit the city with since the game doesn't tell me, but he probably brought up Artillery (yes, he has Artillery) by railroad. The encampment at Bengal lost half of its fortification from bombardment, so that district will go down on Krill's turn.

Ended up finalizing negotiations with CMF for peace. Gave him back his city and all my extra luxuries for peace and a little cash. I also accepted an Embassy from him for the bit of cash that gives me. Now Krill can only hit me with 99 tons instead of 100 lol.

I get to attack Korea next turn. As I mentioned before, I have no way to bring all those troops home in time to do anything, and they would all get crushed anyway. I wish I could fight through Korea to get to Chinese territory but with those 400 strength fortifications and Corps level defensive fire, I can't do anything. Krill will probably capture my capital in a couple of turns and continue to roll over me.

I feel like it comes down to whether or not Archduke decides to concede.

I guess if nothing else, I continue to play to form here. lol

I was able to clear 2 Hwachas and the Musketman near Korea's capital without losses. I guess I'm about as strong vs Korea as China is vs me. Since I'm out of town the next few days, we'll have to wait and see, but I expect both Bengal and Bombay to fall in 1 or 2 turns.

Krill has played a very good game.

I should probably put some pretty pictures up.

Somehow I feel it's appropriate that a mad dictator would still pursue foreign conquests even as the capital is under siege.

Or maybe the order to fall back just got lost on the way. mischief

Bengal is gone. Bombay falls either next turn or the one after, though it only has Ancient walls so maybe next.

I did at least capture Korea's capital, lol. Greenline had started walls and purchased/trained a hwacha there, but it died with the city. I'll send some forces south to capture/burn Korea's southern cities, and then maybe decided if I want to take a crack at the big fortress of Scarborough Fair. Greenline never moved units south to defend the capital. Maybe he feels as hopeless as I do.

Krill captured my capital last turn, as he's probably reported, and looks to be preparing to continue heading east. I sent a peace offer, willing to cede my cities, but I imagine Krill wants a full conquest.

Greenline may be playing his turns but I'm not certain that he's doing anything besides hitting "end turn." I noted how he never reacted to my invasion. Last turn, I used my 2-shot field cannon to take out a hwacha. He had other units in range and they didn't move, so I killed them too. I now have some units in range of one of his cities with walls, so we'll see if he at least attacks my units.

At least I still somehow have about the same number of cities as TAD, lol. But Bombay and Bengal were the jewels of my empire and had most of my wonders, so even if Krill does take peace I'm a dead empire walking.

Not much else to update. Took Korea's city that's on the inner coast. Mostly took one of Korea's other cities on the other coast. Waiting until next turn to pillage and then burn the city.

Krill is moving MUCH faster through my territory than I expected, even without railroads. Lost two more, including Persian, so the rest of my territory is probably going to be swept up by the end of the week.

Again, I wonder if anyone else in the game feels they have a shot at winning, or if they've all agreed to let Krill have his fun taking me apart first lol.

I moved a few units around on the home front, but honestly they are getting deleted instantly. I already sent the turn on, but I think I'm going to pull like, the one cavalry unit left up there to the Korean front. I feel like my only objective at this point is to try to eliminate Korea before I am eliminated. It would be nice to have a game where I'm not the first one out. XD

Krill has been tearing through Japan now as well, and I've lost just about everything. Krill declared on Korea a few turns ago, too. Khmer is keeping pace with Chinese Civics, but technologically is equal with me, so TAD also has no chance vs Krill. Maybe this game will play out to an actual Domination victory?
